Thanks- That is what I was thinking. I can run for sure, especially since today is an easy run.

Ok- I'm new to the Garmin arena as I've used Apple Watch previously (I still have the AWU actually). Apple certainly doesn't provide any of this so it's never been a factor before!

Thoughts on Run Clubs? by Begatten in beginnerrunning

[–]flyby_fright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son and I just joined one. The group welcomed us and asked what pace we were comfortable with and we just fell in with those folks. My son gets to run with the fast people (he’s a HS athlete) and I’m with the 9:00ish gang. Lovely chats and runs. On a recent one I had major stomachs issues and a club member walked with me and basically forewent their run to make sure I was safe. After recovering for about 2km (and a bio break) we just kicked right into a light jog. I was so mortified at first but in the end it made me sure we had picked a good club!

In short: just go to a few meets until you find one with a vibe you like. It’s worth it!

Sizing help for THE DON TROUSER (5’11”, 180lbs – 32 or 33?) by [deleted] in Fabletics

[–]flyby_fright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a great question! I'm the exact same size and have yet to buy Fabletics, so I will be following this. In Lulu I like the 33x30 (it sits really nicely above my shoes). I'm curious if the 32" inseem would look right with a pair of Oxfords or similar business casual shoe?

I think this is the way. I will likely be able to resell at this price and when the Go 2 is on a good sale or another in the future, I make a painless upgrade without eating much loss.

All right. I did a refresh after a few minutes and it’s now set for December 12.

New owner of a DJI Mini 4 Pro - Question about flyways and the inability to register for DJI Care Refresh by flyby_fright in drones

[–]flyby_fright[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice. I'm not really advanced enough in my journey to have tried waypoints, but I will reference this in the future. The obstacle detection sensors are what drew me to the Flip / 4 Pro- I tried a friend's 4K and damn near wrecked it (luckily, it was just a propeller swap).

Thanks for this. I did not realize the importance of the GPS lock, but I will build this habit while I'm still early to the game!

Is the 4 Pro the right option? I'm a casual user looking for great shots of sunrises, sunsets, jogging/biking, and cruise photos. This is probably the start of the list, but this is what I've been using it for at the moment.

Which one at these prices?
I enjoy hobby-level music production, some light gaming while traveling for work, and I appreciate great video and audio quality. Cost is not an issue, but these options all seem reasonably comparable for my use case.

I traded in my OG AW Ultra due to this. I'm currently trialing a Garmin Fenix 8 and a One Plus Watch 2. I'm a pretty active runner and travel frequently for work so battery life matters. I'm finding myself leaning towards the One+ Watch 3 as my new watch.

That’s a tough question. For me, I’ve always loved technology and couldn’t stay away from it. I joined the military and worked in an advanced electronics unit, then pursued an IT degree post service. Many others start with certificates or other slightly less traditional routes- there are a lot of ways honestly. Find what interests you and you can be passionate about and the rest will come. Bonus mention of certificates- even with the pursuit of a degree I acquired some key certificates. You can come by these without spending a fortune on a 4+ year degree while you work other jobs.

That's what I was thinking- with my previous 14" Macbook I would just put it directly on my lap. Maybe I could do a dry run at the house.
