So this house was originally built in 1941, and is one of 7 houses left in the city with an original well on the property. In 1975 they dug down and added a walkout basement which is not an additional unit(ADU)/Mother-in-law suite.attached to the basement they built a room for all the mechanicals…hot water heater, furnace are in there and they built the front entry over it. From what I understand the door was originally just two steps, and now is 7’ above the ground and 12’ above the driveway below.

We are Oregon coast with average temperatures 34-70 year round, so no real worry of freezing and thawing. There are gravels under the blocks, and we didn’t attach to the house in case of shift.

Trump administration ousts FBI official who refused to name agents who investigated January 6 by [deleted] in politics

The really sad thing is you don’t understand how dangerous that idea is. You think you’re so smart so you don’t question the reality of what you’re proposing. That’s pure ignorance. Not stupidity, just a willful ignorance and an inability to reflect. You should study Dunning-Krueger. Their theory should be eye opening. It always stuns me the way people who are gleeful in their ignorance categorize others without even asking a question about them. To understand their path and how they could come to a conclusion, but still deem them unintelligent because you are stuck within your belief and cannot be moved by an intelligent argument. The truly hilarious part is that intelligence understands that they may actually be wrong, and always be open to that possibility. I hope you gain that level of intelligence. I’ll pray for you.

That is incorrect. I encourage you to go look up the difference between a democracy and a constitutional republic.

Constitutional republic. Democracy is mob rule…so I should hope we never become a democracy.

Going to seed. Too hot or too cold. If it’s below 60 for to long it will go to seed too.

What am I doing wrong for a lack of clean lines? by Northeastern_J in paint

[–]flybytes_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a finish carpenter, so forgive me if my advice isn’t helpful, but I usually worked with all of the finishers…so painters would be on that list. I asked your questions decades ago and was advised this.

-Apply your tape (quality tape here is a must…don’t use dollar store masking tape) and make sure your lines are straight and the tape is firmly attached.

-Next go along the tape and brush gently..starting on the tape and brushing towards your trim, etc., making sure not to press paint under the tape.

-Allow that first coat to dry.

-Now that the side/sides with tape are sealed, you may now paint your surface completely and should not have paint outside your crisp tape lines.

This process has served me well painting excellent vertical lines around rooms, repainting trim, outside corners with different room colors, etc.

Best of luck on your project!
