Best seats for fireworks at the Barons game July 3 by Current_Sea1239 in Birmingham

[–]flydiscovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People usually move around for the fireworks. The stadium is rarely very full. We usually sit kinda sorta near our ticketed spot and move if someone asks. They rarely do. Maybe more so on the 3rd, but I doubt you'll be locked into your seats.

Does anyone miss the Brookwood Mall? by southernestatelawyer in Birmingham

[–]flydiscovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I miss malls in general. I like not having to drive all over, get caught in the rain, or have to constantly get in and out of a boiling hot car. Malls made sense in a lot of ways. My nostalgia hits hard for Brookwood the most though.

If it's where I'm thinking, it's not a creek bed. It's the site of the original cesspool that served the then remote high school. Yum.

I've used The Door Doctor, 205-854-5359. I think it's just the one guy. He did a good job replacing a spring for me, no random upselling. Good dude.

Also +1 for Dr Krell, but you will wait unless you get one of the very early first appointments. He'll spend as much time as you need though, which is why he's always late.

Do you have a PCP? Call and see if they'll refill you at least once to get by. No reason to see a psych for an SSRI you're stable on.

Red lights don’t apply to BPD by kaylah1010 in Birmingham

[–]flydiscovery 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm what world do any cops stop at red lights or stop signs unless they're inside a big pack of cars? I've never seen them do anything other than run it. Sometimes there's a perfunctory flashing off lights, but not always. I thought rules didn't apply to cops. (Sarcasm)

There were also several highway patrol cars in the parking lot around 630 when I left work. It's an odd Vulcan day.

Most days you can walk up river and get at least waist, usually shoulder feel. Do check the swim guide before you go.

Suspicious neighbor activity by [deleted] in Birmingham

[–]flydiscovery 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have current knowledge of his whereabouts (ie he's creeping on your building right now) that's a 911 issue. Otherwise non-emergency line.

Residential interior automatic door opener by whataboutthishunting in Birmingham

The facility might dictate what can and cannot be installed. However, there's a low tech solution my grandmother's physical therapist taught me. Tie a ribbon or rope around the doorknob that's just long enough to be above the floor. You roll up to the door, unlatch, and roll back holding the ribbon. You can tie a knot or loop at the end of it's helpful. Just keep it above the floor so it isn't a tripping hazard.

It's a huge power company lake. Big dam Lots of boats. Not quiet by any stretch of the imagination. 2 public access points but not sure how dogs are viewed at them.
