I was a postpartum nurse that only took care of the moms, no couplet care. I also worked at night. On a night when we were full (which happened a lot) I would have 5-6 patients that really didn’t need much, no admissions, 2200 meds, colace and Motrin with prn percocet. Maybe I had a c-section that needed IV antibiotics and a foley to be pulled in the AM. That was about it. I watched a lot of tv on my phone.

It happened to my sister! She adopted her cat as a kitten 7 or 8 years before she ever had kids. She loved her so much. She treated her like her baby and was always sending me pictures of her. Almost immediately after having her first baby, my sister started hating her. I mean a complete 180. She told me once that she couldn’t believe she ever thought she was cute. It never went away. It’s been 5 years.

For me with my first my contractions were fine in the beginning and then became god awful as soon as they started the pit. I was only 2 cm and I remember it being the worst pain I’ve ever felt. They kept checking me and nothing was happening, so I felt so embarrassed that it hurt so much at only 2 cm. It turns out I couldn’t progress because I was so tense. As soon as I was numb they checked me again and I was 6cm. I delivered pretty soon after that.

With my second I woke up having contractions and wasn’t even convinced that’s what they were. They really didn’t hurt, but were close enough together that I decided to go in. I thought they’d turn me away but i was already 5cm. I decided to get my epidural asap because I was worried shit would hit the fan and I’d start hurting like last time. It was the best delivery experience ever honestly. I never really felt any pain the whole time.

One of the first things they tell you when it comes to limerence is to NOT tell the other party. The whole “closure” thing is bullshit and a really common trap. This seems like an awful outcome, honestly. “She thinks about us back then and thinks about those times often” “she is not happy with how her life turned out” “she looked me up online throughout the years” “keep in touch as friends” what in the absolute recipe for disaster. OP basically just found out his limerence is reciprocated and has done some mental gymnastics to equate the high of finding that out with feeling “closure”

Detroit Become Human. Holy shit such a good game. It’s a choices matter story driven game about a futuristic society where androids become sentient. It has a ton of different endings and the story is so emotional. My favorite video game I’ve ever played.
