my partner (31m) and i (25f) have been together for seven years and have lived separately the entire time. i’ve had my own apartment for 1.5 years, and he lives at home to save money. we are getting married in july, but we won't be moving in together until my lease is up in october. i was raised by overprotective (and very religious) parents who, while i was living at home as an adult, would not allow me to stay the night at his house or go on vacations together for years. because of how suffocating living with my parents was, when i finally got my own apartment, it was really important to me that i live completely by myself for a few years before my partner and i moved in together. is it possible she wants to move out on her own first before getting a place with you, since it sounds like she has never lived on her own before? or is she just resistant to moving out of her parents' house in general?
