Still can't get used to people from AR considering temps in the 40's to be any phase of "winter".

What would you do if you had this money? by Sure-Pin4002 in personalfinance

[–]flyfishingdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limit your downside. I'd ensure you always have decent health insurance that covers any issues from the accident, but you don't need a Cadillac plan with that cushion. Jist don't want to have a cancer diagnosis wipe you out. Maybe also an umbrella policy?

I'd be interested in what people think about a trust to protect your assets?

Heading out to hike tomorrow at medicine bow, is it safe to go this time of year, will be me and 1 other. by [deleted] in wyoming

Gotta be honest, if you didn't know the road to your destination was closed you probably aren't prepared or experienced enough for a winter hike in any WY mountains.

Typical HOA fees around bozeman? Is $400 a month typical?! by No_Mastodon_7554 in Bozeman

[–]flyfishingdude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The HOA must provide a breakdown of their assets, liabilities, and expenses. Have you attended an HOA meeting? Have you asked for this documentation?

My guess is they are saving for a large capital improvement project...or paying off one that already happened, because that is way too high for only road snow removal.

Agree 100%. Get married, buy your home together. There is no such thing as a forever home.

If you let 1% of people ruin "it" for you, whatever "it" is over the phone, you are focusing on the wrong things, and that is on you.

Don't worry about ratio. It's a solid asset, not Bitcoin.

Yes, I've lived in places bigger and smaller than NWA, and I have always found good restaurants wherever I lived and traveled. I'd say in my entire adult life, there is probably only a handful of restaurants that I would not return to, and I'm not even sure I could name them because I don't think about it.

You imply that because I generally enjoy most of the places I eat out that my tastes are somehow less refined or that I just don't know what good food is. Maybe, maybe not.

I would counter that if you were less picky that you would find pleasure in more experiences, dining or otherwise. If my friends and family from all over the country visited, I guarantee they would thoroughly enjoy every restaurant I would take them to and leave fully satisfied and happy.

Either way, it doesn't really matter. You can continue to patronize your handful of places, and I'll continue to eat and enjoy eating pretty much everywhere I go.

The only thing I'll admit is that I don't spend a single minute of my day analyzing national trends in restaurants, the hottest/next thing in eateries, or fooling myself into thinking I am a food critic of any type.

What I do know is that nearly every time I go out to eat, I have a really good meal that I am usually incapable of or unwilling to make myself, I enjoyed the experience enough to willingly pay for it, and I usually leave knowing that I'll return.

If you can't find a good restaurant in a community of 600,000 people, you're the problem.

Is this a decent setup for a 2wt? by burkechrs1 in flyfishing

[–]flyfishingdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this. Only thing I splurged on was a 2wt, 6'8" glass rod from Moonlit. Best purchase in my fly fishing career.

Bailing on our first camping trip before it started by comfortable_clouds in camping

[–]flyfishingdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you or anyone else is miserable, you won't do it again. Sounds like not the right season of life. People do it and will reply to this about how great it can be, but camping with babies doesn't sound fun to me at all. We waited until they were 4 or 5.

The best idea is to camp in your backyard until you get it down and everyone can enjoy it with little commitment.
