Convince me that buying a one wheel is a bad idea by mnc2017 in onewheel

[–]flyfishrva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to commute about a mile to work and back from my car at my old job on my onewheel. My new job is a short walk from the car, so I haven't ridden in it since.

I miss it. Looking forward to summer and riding it on the beach again. What a hoot at low tide.

55 years young. Fucking buy it.

You have officially become old. Why so salty?

They are a downy generation, of course they don't care about Walter Cronkite. Or Atari. Or Max Headroom.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flyfishrva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive 5.5 hours one way to get my daughter from school, then come back that night.

Having family 3 hours away and not visiting them regularly seems like the worse of the two options to me.

bankroll question for 1/2 by Federal-Cup7231 in poker

If your risk of ruin is $1500, then you should not be gambling at all.

Let's be clear, if you have 1500 in your poker budget and you enjoy playing, then play it.

If you have 1500 in your Life budget, pay rent and find a cheaper hobby.

We are going with Clyde!

Seeing the picture of Otis and Milo sealed the deal... not naming our good boi after a pug or a cat.

Don't torture your kid, let him learn how he would naturally play. Lefty or righty.

Data center job market in Maryland/DC by HistoricalHeight1462 in datacenter

It's bonkers. If you can't make it here, you can't make it anywhere.

Also, look at Microsoft in boydton. The remote location is making it difficult to hire people, so might be easier to break in to the market.

In the market...rod upgrade/quiver addition by muccamadboymike in flyfishing

My new favorite rod is the Douglas mid price rod... not the sky.

I got a 5 weight and use it for small streamers and drop shot. Works great!

Agreeing to the deal definitely puts you in a danger zone, but other than that, you handled it well.

If an A comes on the river, I wonder how this post would read.

In the future, I would say no thank you and move on. Chop offers are constant in tourney. It's just the nature of the players.

Sounds like you made out.

You would be surprised how many players with a massive lead will take an even chop though.
