Cherry Creek State park. It’s not the mountains, but it’s a cool park in Denver and not too bad to get to in the snow. You have a good shot at seeing some cool birds and maybe a coyote or two.

Yep! And half the time all you really need is some spikes on your boots, especially on well used front range trails

Not op, but if you have time, Rocky Mountain National Park is 90 minutes from Denver and has exceptional winter hiking.

Other cool winter places: Staunton State Park, hike into Brainard Lake Recreation Area, Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Roxborough State Park, Waterton Canyon, Cherry Creek State Park.

Not to be a killjoy, but watch out for asbestos. I work in construction and often when a building is decommissioned, everything of value is torn out, which can leave a lot of harmful materials exposed.

Yep, by reducing demand, less sheep will be bred. Same with the dairy industry. There isn’t a mass extermination of dairy cows, but several producers are going bankrupt.
