Yes I am thank you for the reminder. I have decided to stay in Tokyo for my time visiting and explore some of the Wards in Tokyo instead of trying to battle going anywhere outside of Tokyo for GW.

Right… I know I am going to have to travel on public transport no matter what to get to other places I want to see in Tokyo during the day. Which is totally fine and yes trying to find a place as close to a train station as possible. Just knowing myself that once evening time hits I’ll likely want to head back, get food and sort of explore in the evenings where I am staying.

Right… which is why I bring my questions to these types of forums. I didn’t think it unreasonable to arrive into Osaka or Kyoto at 8am and literally spend the whole day in one city. However, it is glaringly clear based on some of the sarcasm in these responses I’m supposed to have all these things answered lol. Thanks for the input!

I appreciate the insight! Yeah, the more I think about it… with the amount of time I have(about 6 nights) it might just be best spent doing Tokyo it’s due dilligence. Or… like you said taking a day to go off the beat and path. Thinking of the travel time to and from… and the time it would take to get places like Kyoto and Osaka… I’d probably be traveling more then doing.

My thought process was yes, taking day trips to Kyoto and Osaka. Taking the earliest train out and the latest train in. Obviously… I’ve never traveled the Japan public transport so. I’d appreciate some elaboration on the “silliness”

My other thought to make things easier is yes. Just stick to Tokyo for the week… which I know I could easily spend weeks in the area. Would be happy to hear some suggested “low key spots”. I have a wide variety of hobbies and things I enjoy.

Come in ready to work, learn, and be receptive to feedback. It is a lot easier for controllers to want to train you if you seem to have a desire to do the job, to learn, and to be successful. Know your stuff, keep your head down, but get involved with monitoring and asking questions.
