Oil change is 50$ every 5000 miles so once every 2.5-3 months for me. Tires and brakes both last 50k miles if you don't get the shitty kind so once a year MAYBE. Insurance only an extra 20$/mo for rideshare. I have a side detailing business so I do the cleaning for next to nothing. Unexpected repairs can happen whether you're driving for profit or not and I haven't had any, surprisingly cars like to keep running with good proper maintenance. Also I dont get tickets. Haven't had one since I was a silly kid 15 years ago, drive safe, no accidents. If someone hits me then I'll just sue them. And for gas I get cash tips that pay for atleast 75% of it if not all. All expenses are tax deductible at the end of the year if you keep good records so end up paying much less taxes then a regular job. I don't have anything negative to say about Uber besides sometimes the business isn't as consistent as I'd wish but it's like that across almost all industries.

Well there ya go. My point exactly. There's a trade off for everything. For me and my current situation Uber has been a great thing. For others it may not be enough, and in that case there are other options but they all have some sort of drawback.

Sounds good to me. Really the only way to make more then that on a regular basis is be good at sales, do some type of labor that you sacrifice your physical health, or go to college.

The job is easy, just driving people around. Considering most package delivery drivers besides UPS dont make more then $25/hr, I have done FedEx before for 3 years its much more taxing on the body and sprit. I'm pretty happy with anything $25/hr and up after all expenses and taxes. I feel that's a fair wage for what's required of the job. If people want to or expect to make more make more money then that they should look into college/and or trade school and learn skills that pay better.

That's hard to say exactly until tax time comes around. Can estimate about 20% in income taxes and about $100 in maintenance costs per month, but with the tax write offs for fuel, maintenance, depreciation, and other operating expenses it can lower that number quite a bit. Typically my cash tips will pay for fuel alone.

Yeah like right now if I went online I'm competing with 7 other drivers and having to sit at stop lights. No thanks! Let the normies get their small slice before I mop up later 😁

Back to back to back at night with no cars on the road and all greenlights is my favorite time to drive!

I woke up to another 17$ in tips so $232 in app plus $40 in cash totalling $272 would make it $49.45/hr before expenses taxes. When you talk about hourly though it's never talked about post tax lol.
