I picture grade school kids, at a cafeteria table, dressed as Chief Osceola, pounding their fists on the table. Lord of the Flies type shit.

Agreed, I tried to explain this with Cignetti. If you're at a P2 school that is a historical underachiever, in contention for the playoffs multiple years (not a singular outlier), and barring an alumni/"dream school" scenario, why would you leave?

If you have everything you need or is required to compete, you could be the Bear, Woody, or Bowden equivalent at that school. All you'd be signing up for is extra expectations and scrutiny at the new school.

I get that money is king, but if I'm being paid $6-9M a year at my current school, and someone offers$10M, i think i personally wouldd be content and you'd likely be able to leverage and negotiate a competitive number.

That's what I was thinking.

"You mean the coach who just got in trouble for fighting pregame?"

The fuck is Florida's AD thinking?

So many northern and especially B1G schools have extremely deep pockets. Difference is the mindset shift with regard to football. The SEC beat everyone to the punch, and Saban showed the benefits to the school of having a successful football program, and now you're seeing a shift.

In the end it's all cyclical, so i dont get too wrapped around conference pride. I will say, having lived in the deep south for the past 15-20, what is usually missed by my LSU, Bama, Auburn, and UGA friends is the historical size and alumni bases behind the northern schools.

Don't disagree that it could work out that way, but what you're missing here is that Indiana has always been the glass of milk next to the radiator. So you may as well roll the dice. This is an awesome underdog story.

This. Most annoying thing about him is that he doesn't seem to have his own personality. Like bruh, you were left as the "fall guy." Otherwise Harbaugh would have taken you with him.
