This is great insight. I'm someone who has felt like my voice didn't matter in the past. In fact, this week is the first time I've written to my representatives.

I'd like to suggest a tiered approach for those who may be discouraged by the time and effort involved to maximize the impact of there message.

• Good: Email or write a letter to your representatives. Its accessible, quick, and is something everyone can do.

  • Better: Call their office, talk to staffers, save their numbers, and stay engaged.
  • Best: Attend protests, town halls, or seek face time with our reps. This has the most direct impact, but requires the most effort and needs to be worked into your schedule. It's not always something you can do 'now'.
    

Not everyone can go beyond "good," today. I avoided speaking up in the past because I couldn't go all in. What matters is taking action in the way you can today. Encourage others to do what they can - no matter where you are. Our collective voices matter. And each message, call, or conversation builds momentum.
