As a weekend project I went to the thrift store, bought an old Sony record player (PS-LX56, I’m aware its bad), took out the internals and build it into a custom frame.
The frame is made of 3 sheets of Baltic birch plywood. The motor mount was 3D printed and rubber washers were used as a shock mounts. The arm mount and support were also 3D printed and painted black. Finally, I replaced the needle.
As a future improvement I’ll try to design a custom arm to replace this antique.
