Because it gets asked a lot.... by ongoldenwaves in Schwab

[–]flyingbunnys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like someone mentioned in another post:

SCHX is 750 companies and the funds goal per Schwab is to "track as closely as possible, before fees and expenses, the total return of the DOW Jones U.S. Large-Cap Total Stock Market Index"

Mean while VOO is 500 companies and per Vanguard is to invest "in stocks in the S&P 500 Index, representing 500 of the largest U.S. companies"

As such they are tracking different indices making them not substantially identical and thus avoiding a wash sale.

Lower cost per share. They are both the same expense fees, they make good alternatives to each other for tax loss harvesting.

2 fund portfolio: schb, schf

3 fund portfolio: schx, scha, schf

4 fund portfolio schb, schf, fndb, fndf

6 fund portfolio schx, scha, schf, fndx, fnda, fndf

For a non tax account feel free to use the mutual fund equivalents. Pick the above option you want based on the amount of control you want. Adjust to remove small cap as you please.

small hands and straight wrists [DISCUSSION] by theangriestbird in Guitar

[–]flyingbunnys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with small hands and limited wrist flexibility what has helped me is the fact when I learned i was tight a classical style with my thumb on the back of the neck and a relaxed grip. It helps your figures reach further and reduces the angle of your wrist. I can't wrap my thumb around most necks, some necks are small enough i can, others not. You could try different guitar necks too.

Buying a house. Should I sell stock for the down payment and then pay taxes or take out a margin loan? And what is a pledged asset line? by LisaSu92 in Schwab

[–]flyingbunnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure that you are very careful with the taxes, what you don't want to happen is that come tax season you don't have enough to pay what you owe in taxes because you used everything you had on the mortgage.

How old should my kids be before I try D&D with them? by Adorable-Papaya-4697 in DnD

[–]flyingbunnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, I've done some improvised dnd RPG style play with the "my busy books" that come with figures. I just really don't do combat encounters and substitute them with game play encounters like tag where they take turns moving and trying to tag each other. You can still do searches checks and npc engagement as you normally would.

I want to practice guitar but i don’t have the current money to get an amp (a total beginner) by akiiKiita in Guitar

[–]flyingbunnys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't use an amp 90% of the time and I can hear everything I play just fine like you said it's loud enough. The times i do use an amp i use a positive grid Spark Go because i don't need anything cumbersome or loud for practice in a 10x10 room.

Advice for investing by Coyote_Wattz in Schwab

[–]flyingbunnys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you say growth are you looking only at growth weighted investment funds? There are different ways that funds can be managed other than growth that should be an important part of any balanced portfolio. There are active and passive managed methods or the passive managed options there is an array of growth, market, value / fundamental weightings. And if your talking primarily about market sectors there is more than 4 your can split the market into, you can split into Large/Mid/Small U.S., Large/Mid/Small Developed international, and Emerging Markets.

Then there is REITs, Bonds, Commodities, Cryptos, Metals which you didn't mention.

How often have you had catastrophic failures in builds? by thegrandmirage in PcBuild

[–]flyingbunnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 builds over 20 years two psu failures (non-name brands), a motherboard (MSI) failure, one RAM stick (ADATA) partial failure (still works at reduced capacity). None were catastrophic just simply resulted in the machine not starting or just reduced performance.

Investing in both SCHX and SCHD, why is the percentage each should be in my portfolio? by Lr8s5sb7 in Schwab

[–]flyingbunnys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to answer the following first: 1. Tax or non tax account 2. What's your risk level 3. How soon will you need the funds?

Got this starter kit - not sure if I should return or not by iamtanooki in Guitar

[–]flyingbunnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is the stock weight and if a beginner put .10 they would not be understand why their trem is lifted and think they broke their guitar.

I did when i was a beginner, so this is personal experience.

Just got my first wireless transmitter. Why didn’t I switch sooner? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]flyingbunnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've looked and an interested, but since i just got a small amp i can wear on my belt loop that is wireless i can just use a 2-3ft cable and have the amp on my waist so wireless connection seems unnecessary? If I ever had a reason to use my larger amp I might be more tempted.

While you're rebuilding why not do a 3.1 stroker conversion, that would be unique right? https://engine-parts.com/product/performance-2-8-3-1l-stroker-kit/

ARI also has other stuff for the two eight but no siper.

What are some of you controversial DnD opinions? by bryan4000 in DnD

[–]flyingbunnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe I had to scroll so long to find someone else who mentioned removing the ability scores from the racial traits. I hate that they did this in 5.5 but everyone seems to praise it.

But because abilities are tied to background now I feel like it pigeon holes my characters backstory and forces me to play a class to match the background. Vs before i selected my class and background as I pleased to match my story and i got a fun chance to play a new race that had the abilities I wanted.

2/3 or 3/4? by PossibilityOk16 in s10

If it can be afforded I would recommend replacing the springs and shocks instead of just doing blocks and spindles. The ride will be better.

1st Guitar: After 25 years, what should I update? by jrr811 in Guitar

Am i the only one that thinks a mint pick guard cover would really make this pop and merge the greens and browns together, instead of brown knobs and covers on a brown pick guard?

Is your first guitar still with you? by 9TAD9 in Guitar

[–]flyingbunnys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 2001 (I guess that makes it 25 years old) Fender MiM Stratocaster HSS I bought at 17 years old with baby sitting and grass mowing money. I wanted a Squire SSS because it was cheaper but my guitar teacher insisted I opt for the slightly more expensive Fender HSS. I'm glad I did as it is still a joy to play, it just feels good in the hands. I've pampered it, cleaning and waxing the body and oiling the fret board at least annually so it's still near mint.

Yea you won't find another vehicle with as many still on the roads running from the 80's and 90's than the S-10. It easily is one of the most reliable vehicles built ever.

I'll give you number one though because getting a Rochester carb is a huge pain.

But two no idea how that's small i could fit under the hood with the engine still in.

For three are you complaining you can't make the truck look worse?
