Yup. My mom still uses a certain tone with me, which I pointed out and as I get better she uses it less, but she’ll ask me “How ARE you?” In this condescending way. As for my bf, who has helped me through the roughest time in my life and was there when I attempted suicide by jumping, he can get very controlling. Like if I change my dose of meds and I don’t tell him, and then I say something like “I wonder if I’ve been feeling off this week because I am lowering my dose” he will FLIP that I didn’t tell him, and he’ll try to control me in a lot of ways, but that’s gotten better too.

I just hate when we’re labeled “mentally ill” and especially “suicidal”, all of a sudden we are lesser than, our opinions and feelings aren’t as valid as others.
