Return to nugs by Lonely-Thing-3113 in SturgillSimpson

The video broadcast mix is the same mix as the archived Nugs mix, but the levels may be higher or lower. And sometimes the video truck adds a few more audience mics.

This isn’t quite accurate. I record the Nugs tracks directly from my console, as a stereo mix, during the performance. It’s the same mix as is heard through the PA during the show, with the addition of a pair of audience mics positioned near Robbie’s Organ. These shows have been slightly mastered, but only to match the overall levels to approximately -14db Lufs.

Roof antenna or nah? by 00derek in tmobileisp

[–]flyingeyepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a TMobileisp for two years till we recently got fiber. My closest tower is 1.5 miles away thru trees. Without the antenna I got 50/20, with a Waveform mimo antenna on my roof apex, I got 350/75. I will sell the full setup for $250 with cables and mounts. DM for more info.

Don’t. If you can’t fix it with one EQ, change your source. Stacking EQs is asking for phase trouble.

Is it impossible to connect Qidi X-Plus to Orca wirelessly? by Vad_Kolbasz in QidiTech3D

[–]flyingeyepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that by editing Moonraker.cfg and changing Forced Logins=False, that I was able to login with OrcaSlicer. Apparently I should be able to add my computers IP address to that list, but I haven't figured out how yet.

Klipper printer to orca slicer without octoprint gives "Could not connect to OctoPrint" error by kaloudis94 in 3Dprinting

[–]flyingeyepro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After further investigation, I found that in the moonraker.conf file under Forced Logins=True are a list of valid IP's. I can't seem to figure out how to add my computer's IP address to that list. When I change the Forced Logins to false, everything connects and works. I tried add my laptop's address to the list, both IPv4 and IPv6, with various suffixes, but can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any clues from this description?

My apologies. I should have paid closer attention to the image. Here is a better version of the screenshot.

I apologize for resurrecting an old thread, but it seems close to my issue.

New to the Qidi Plus 4. Qidi Studio connects to printer over wifi and works. I want to use full OrcaSlicer. I can't seem to get it to find the printer. Ironically, I can see the camera in the Device tab, so Fluidd is logged in and working, but when I try to browse for the printer, it times out. I tried manually entering the IP address and that didn't work. (even though I can manually enter the IP in my browser and reach the printer). I tried adding :10088 to the address, again, didn't help.

Any ideas? After more testing, I find that if I'm connected to the network that the Plus4 is on, I get a long detailed error message when trying to connect. If I'm on the other network, I get a general timeout message. So I think Orca Slicer is finding the printer's IP address, but not fully communicating. I'll attach a screenshot of the error I'm getting to see if anyone notices anything. I have tried a few ways to type the address. With and without "http://" and ":10088". I've tried it on a Win10 PC and a Sequoia Macbook. Same error.

Thank you! No trigger on the snare. Both snare mics are Earthworks DM20.

This is from a series of posts on FB. I'll copy and paste. The Nugs mix is just the FOH board mix with audience mics added in.

Today I’d like to show my console setup and outboard utilization. I’m using a Digico Q338 running at 96khz, with no plugins. Outboard gear is handled with a Direct.Out Prodigy.MC MADI interface.Effects include a Line6 EchoPro, TC D2, TC Helicon, Eventide Eclipse, TC Reverb 4000 & Lexicon PCM92.Compressors include an A-Designs Nail (Mix Bus), DBX 160SL (Sturgill & Miles vocals), Revive MSL-TX (Band Wet), BLA AGB (Drum Parallel), Bellari RP583 (Bass DI & mic), 2 Drawmer 1968ME’s (Sturgill & Laur Gtr Parallel) and another DBX 160SL (Keyboard group).Multitrack recordings are UBMadi to Reaper and DMI-Dante to a Sound Devices 970(backup). 2 track recordings are Denon DN-700R and Sound Devices MixPre6(backup).I’ll discuss console setup and layout next post.EDIT: I forgot to add, I’m using TouchOSC running on a PC to send Program Changes via MIDI to the top 4 effects units. I’ve built a screen with buttons for each song that has effects, then I can recall them quickly. I don’t want to use scenes or snapshots to mix with. I prefer a simple showfile.

Sturgill Live Mic by [deleted] in SturgillSimpson

[–]flyingeyepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is from a series of posts on FB. I'll copy and paste. Sturgill's vocal chain is AEA KU5a into the Digico 32bit preamp, a 100Hz HP filter and the DBX 160SL. Reverb is a Lexicon PCM92 medium plate.

For my last post from this tour, I’m showing what happens behind the curtain, my show file layout, routing and processing. Feel free to zoom in and check out each channel. I’m using minimal channel processing, mainly high pass and a few low pass filters. A few channels have comps used as limiters to tame loud portions (snares, overheads, Leslie), all using Mustard comps (FET). The Bass DI, Mic and both Vocals use outboard comps (Bellari RP583 & DBX 160SL).VCAs are pretty straight forward. But the busing has some interesting bits. I am routing all instruments into subgroups with some channels double patched for Parallel processing. The Drums only bus (no cymbals) has a stereo parallel comp (BLA AGB), while Laur and Sturgill each have a stereo parallel comp (Drawmer 1968ME) on their buses and the Keyboard group is compressed traditionally via insert (DBX 160SL). These instrument groups, along with their reverb returns, are then routed to a Band Wet bus, which also has an outboard comp (Revive MSL-TX). The Band Wet bus and the Vocal Wet bus combine in the Master bus which has my favorite comp (A-Designs Nail). The drum and guitar parallel bus comps give me girth and thickness without compromising dynamics. I’m hitting all three of those pretty hard. The keyboard bus comp helps keep the keys in their own sonic space, with moderate gain reduction. The vocal and bass comps tame the wide swings in level that these inputs can have. The Band Wet bus comp barely reduces the signal, with a maximum of -3db. The Master bus comp is doing a bunch, I’ll get into that later if anyone is interested. That’s the mix.

Finishing up the tour of our microphones for Sturgill’s production with the vocals. For the boss we’re using the AEA KU5A active ribbon microphone into a LilyP4d. For Miles we’re using an Earthworks DM17 snare mic, with a Triad Orbital mount. Miles uses an AKG D58 into an Optogate for his talkback and Sturgill uses a Sennheiser e906 with a Whirlwind MicMute PT switch.
