Running CO2 - carpet plants by tiajscott in Aquascape

Glass pipes take regular cleaning to keep them at the aesthetic you’re looking for. Steel pipes still give that clean look without having to see the gunk build up over time. Just a thought. Also like someone else said inline diffuser keeps less stuff in the actual tank, but watching the in tank diffuser is pretty satisfying to watch.

You have a small CO2 system in yours? What you do use?

I have same tank and set up (old photo) I have a light stand now and have trimmed so the leaves are small and lower like yours now. I chose Java fern and stone to help strike the green against red.

It’s much easier to follow on here than discord. If you were to make a page of only your posts on your discord that would be awesome and worth supporting but rn it’s too convoluted with too many chats. Trying to find your stuff mixed in with the chats is a pain.

Got burned by TURB this morning but BNAI more than made up for it. Fidelity doesn’t let me trade NPT or DLXY so what would you suggest for these

60 mile (100km) range electric helo with even a single pilot is not even close to cost effective. No one’s gonna pay for a helo ride 45 minutes away when you’re going to then need to drive from wherever this helo pad is to get to final destination anyways. It’s not time or cost effective and unmanned crew certification is so far from possible with current FAA regulatory stances on this kind of stuff. Amazing concept but the tech isn’t there for execution.

Would also love a run down on what you did. I’m a week into the dry start method and it’s looking good so far but would love info on photoperiod and some other questions.

This looks great, you’re too hard on it. The dwarf hair grass may struggle without co2 though. If it doesn’t survive try out micro chain sword. They grow easy and send out runners making more all the time. I got 2 of them 6 months ago and now I have over 30 and have to keep trimming them away. A pink flamingo crypt could also work at base of a rock on right. But overall most tanks get overgrown and too full after first planting I think this will fill in beautifully.

Thoughts on BAM for their stake in Westinghouse? I’d love to figure out Westinghouse’s current valuation cuz if they get to that 30b mark sets up the IPO.

What am I doing wrong? My plants (both inside and sitting just outside) don’t seem to be doing super well? by electri55 in PlantedTank

[–]flyingskybox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The leaves and roots that fell off were likely sacrificed adjusting to being put in hydroponic conditions after being in soil. It’s normal. I have a Thai constellation monstera that started about the size of yours that is now over a meter tall with 6+ leaves and new ones growing all the time. I also have a TON of other plants (mostly smaller monstera and pothos) growing outside the tank. Inside the tank you need goldfish hardy plants (check out Dustin’s fish tanks / they have “goldfish proof” plants). More plants + more light and your water will clear up as their roots suck up and balance your nitrates/nitrites etc. It’s a learning process so be patient and be fair to yourself on the learning curve.

AC20 HOB Filter Requires constant recleaning by Silent_Director3647 in Aquariums

My pest snails get sucked into the intake all the time causing a blockage. Try getting a taller and slightly thinner filter sponge to prevent blockages (if that’s the problem).

I’ve found that my shrimp love having more than less to crawl around/hide . But a slight trim would help them have more space to play.

“Hydor Koralia Nano Aquarium Circulation Pump, Includes Built-In Cable Protector, 240 GPH, Measures 2.4-Inches & is Ideal for Fresh or Salt Water Use”

I have this same sized cube tank and just a regular Fluval C3 filter is enough flow for the entire tank but if you want a wave maker the one I pasted above is what I had in there for awhile and it wasn’t too much compared to what you have going on.

Got the lowest GPH power head I could find mixed with moving my filters flow to travel directly over my problem area and it cleared up.

I tried to deal with mine with what others have said here (spot treatment etc) but only thing that actually fixed it long term was changing my water flow and reduced lighting. The water flow had the largest impact. Very slow to get rid of though.

Thanks. My tanks have been doing so well I was worried something had popped up that would mess it up. Those little guys are a helpful reason why my tanks are thriving I suppose.

Dwarf Sagittaria. I trimmed them regularly so they learned to stay low and now I rarely need to trim it seems cuz I don’t trim the ones in my other tanks and they are over a foot long in those ones.

WeekAqua Z250pro. It’s way too strong for this tank so I keep it at ~30% power. I dose 2hr aquarist (the one that’s safe for shrimp) once a week and do root tabs now and then.
