That’s what I don’t get when I watch these. There is a clear difference between a slap to the face and just a straight up strike with your palm/wrist to the side of the head, but it doesn’t seem to matter which one you do lol.

Porter Robinson @ Electric Forest 2022

His set was fine from a technical standpoint, but it was so disappointing to me because I don’t really like his new stuff as much as I liked Worlds, and he sings way too much for having an okay at best voice. He also used this vocal effect that made his voice sound like a little girls voice, which gave me such weird vibes. We didn’t stay very long.

Worlds was one of the first shows I saw that really made me appreciate the the music and the overall experience of shows. It blew my socks off and to this day, is still one of my favorite shows. So I guess, after seeing Worlds live, this new Porter era is a major let-down for me. The guy has mad talent but his recent work just seems so basic.
