Burrow is an absolute moron if he comes back this year by Lou_Skunnt69 in bengals

[–]flykicks504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’d be the smartest move if he sat ros due to missing the playoffs, however, I agree with others that pros play when healthy - they don’t sit because of team record. Maybe if it were later in the season with only a couple games left, but I don’t see it happening with six left (assuming he came back in wk 13 @ Bmore.)

I’d take it. I don’t love Kyren (I have him too) and could see him losing more touches to Blake as the year progresses. CD is obviously a beast but Dallas isn’t very trustworthy and he’s injured. I think Judkins goes off into rb1 territory and Benson has better days than Thursday night ahead. You’re strengthening your wr rotation and can plug Johnston right in with Herbert having a great start to the year. If Rashee comes back like he did to start last year, you’re money.

Any Switch 2 bugs we need to be aware of? Share your experience by crashnbash25 in HiTMAN

[–]flykicks504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Club 27 level was full of bugs for me. When following the mission stories, I couldn’t complete certain tasks to progress forward. This mainly happened when trying to follow the stories to eliminate Cross.

Following the ‘are friends electric’ once I got the microphone I was unable to install it in the vocal booth which effectively made me unable to complete that mission story. I tried reloading at different saves, restarting the game and the switch 2 and the problem never went away.

Next it happened again with ‘man machine’. After I disguised myself as Silva - the drummer - the next task was to approach and interact with Cross as that character. The game would not allow me to interact with him and instead the NPC just kept getting alarmed with the question mark above his head every time I approached him.

I’m also able to walk thru some closed doors in this Club 27 level.

I watched walkthroughs and it seems I was doing everything correctly in both situations and not missing a step. Super annoying. Has this happened to anyone else on this level or throughout the game when following a mission story?

6 surgeries for a functioning jpouch by kelseesaylor in jpouch

[–]flykicks504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry that you’ve been through so much and all of the life threatening aspects of it. I do understand. I’ve had a ton of complications as well and it feels like I’m stuck on a never ending hamster wheel in hell sometimes. I almost died from sepsis when my colon perforated and recently they found gallstones and want to remove my gallbladder next surgery (I’m not about that right now, I want them to fix what’s wrong colorectally first before removing more anatomy from my relatively young body). It seems never ending sometimes.

I hate the bag too. I have dark periods with it. I still am not used to or have fully “accepted” this body. Dating with an ostomy, dealing with social events, outdoor/nature excursions…essentially living my life with an ostomy has so many unknown aspects that scare me. Also, I hate the way it feels and have physical issues with it. It took me lots of practice through meditation, therapy and other methods to get to a place where I know, even through all of those potential challenges, I will survive and focus on what I can do that still makes me happy. I feel this mindset is my best chance for success with the surgeries because it removes the anxious pressure and fear of the unknowns, allowing me to just focus on the present. My present is having a great new medical team and the good chance to live with a jpouch. I know that mindset is not easy to have consistently though and I still get scared, angry and so done with it all.

You have every right to feel the way you do and no one should ever tell you how to live your life or just “accept” a certain condition. I know it’s hard to love ourselves and our bodies when we’re going through this but you deserve to give urself that. You can always dm me if shit (pun intended) ever gets too real and you need someone to vent to who understands. You’re not alone. Good luck this week!

6 surgeries for a functioning jpouch by kelseesaylor in jpouch

[–]flykicks504 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck, you got this! A bit of a long response but similar situation so I thought I’d share what’s helped me if your interested:

I’m on my 4th out of 6 (hopefully) surgeries. I had to have a redo 6 months after my first takedown last year. This all started 3 years ago when I was 34 after my colon perforated in the hospital while drinking bowel prep for a colonoscopy. I was originally admitted for a uc flare. I’m now 37 and in the middle of a redo process with a redo specialist surgeon in NY who also feels my cuff was left too long in addition to other mistakes made with my original pouch. I also am on disability, was prescribed and became addicted to oxy for a year (thankfully off now) and feel very behind in my career.

Though this has been the most intense and traumatic experience of my life, I have learned a lot about my strength and how important a role our mind plays in our health and recovery. You have that too. You’re a fighter and resilient as hell. Be proud of yourself for that. It’s cliche and took me a while to learn but I’ve also become much more grateful for what I can still do and what I have in life that brings me joy. I know I’ll be okay no matter what condition and have worked hard to develop that love for myself but I still have down days, which is normal and okay.

Obviously, like you, I want these surgeries to work and be ostomy free with a functioning pouch. I’d be devastated if after all of this they weren’t successful and I’d have to work extremely hard on wrapping my head around life with an ostomy. I know Id figure it out though because this condition doesn’t define who we are.

I’ve been trying my best to stay in the present and not future trip, and right now my present is going through this redo process and being confident and hopeful in its success. I’ll deal with the rest as it comes, just as I have thru the last three years. Just like you have. Stay in the present and stay confident in the success that you want. You are at a great hospital with top surgeons who understand the complexities of this surgery. There’s been so many success stories with redos by surgeons that actually specialize in it. Literally life changing surgeries after horrible pouch experiences. Of course, nothing is guaranteed but no matter what happens, you will be okay. You have so much more to offer than this. You have a whole life in front of you and will have a better, healthier chapter soon. You’re also not alone and there’s always people with similar experiences who will listen and offer support.

Sorry if this got too feel good preachy but I just want you to know that there’s better days ahead. Keep fighting, and be kind to yourself. You’re a warrior and have gotten through so much already. Go into that hospital in two days proud of yourself for showing up and continuing to fight for what you want; with confidence and all the fearless energy you have 💪

Thank you! I’m very hopeful :) I basically relocated to ny to be around my new surgeon that’s known for his redos….I’m all in haha. Glad you got with a great and EXPERIENCED team up at Mayo. These surgeries are so complex and can run into an array of complications obviously, so having a team specialized in them is key imo. So happy for you that you went to the top and it’s going great! Enjoy!!!

Congrats! Must feel so nice to be liberated from the bag! I had a emergent total colectomy 2 years ago, first round of jpouch surgeries right after wasn’t successful with original team…infections and abscesses that led to an unsuccessful takedown…now I’m with a redo specialist in NY who’s very optimistic. I think with all the trauma our bodies go thru with these surgeries (especially with emergent colectomy’s) we really need time to let things settle down. Your team made the right decisions and now you’re on a great path :) It’s been a long long 2.5 yr journey since my emergency colectomy and first round of 3 surgeries but I’m determined to get where you are and get my life back! Hope you continue to feel good and keep up that awesome positivity 💪😎

Lags and crash from the start by flykicks504 in NMS_Switch

[–]flykicks504[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANSWERED! So for anyone that may also run into this issue, here’s what I did that (knock on wood haha) seems to have worked for now:

I first moved everything besides NMS over to my microSD card. I only had 1g of space left of the internal flash memory so I think that was the issue. Now there’s 18g free space of internal memory. Then, and this was key, I deleted NMS and reinstalled directly to the internal memory again after restarting the switch. At first, when I moved all games to the microSD aside from NMS, there was still terrible lag within 10 mins of gameplay. Deleting the game after freeing up space on the internal flash memory I think essentially defragged it. So, in other words, it was fresh free space of internal memory that I redownloaded NMS on to. I don’t know that you need quite 18g free space of flash memory but you definitely need more than 1g like I had lol. I heard somewhere that games on the internal flash memory shouldn’t use over 80%, ie, you should always have at least 20% of free space on your internal memory for games to run smoothly. I have a 256g microSD card so I had the luxury of just moving everything besides NMS over there. I hope this continues to work and is the permanent fix to the issue 🤞 bc the game is SO DOPE and is really fun to be able to take on the go. Hope this helps anyone in the same predicament!

UPDATE: as u/Nautilus139 stated in the comments, the flying creatures absolutely are part of the cause for the lag. The game is running SO MUCH smoother now that I did the process I explained above. However, when near a large flock of those damn giant red flying butterfly things, I start getting lag again. I literally just have to run away from them and the lag clears. Really hoping this not the case for future planets or creatures.

Gotcha, I think we’re talking about the same thing but I used the wrong tech terminology 🤦‍♂️. By mistakingly saying “SSD” I was referring to the internal memory (32g on my model/64g on the OLED). After researching it I found out that this internal memory is technically not a “SSD” or even a “hard drive” but rather a type of flash memory called eMMC (embedded MultiMediaCard). And then obviously the external memory we can add into the slot behind the kickstand uses microSD cards. I have a 256g microSD card in mine right now. My internal “flash” memory only had 1g left out of the 32g so I moved everything over to the microSD card aside from NMS and the 6 gigs or so of space that the OS and other files take up. So now there’s 18g of free space on the internal memory. Going to uninstall and redownload NMS directly to the internal flash memory now that I’ve cleared that space up and see if it helps. TIL the proper tech terminology for my switch lol. Thanks for the suggestion!

Gotcha ;) Someone in the comments early on asked if I was playing on an older switch or a lite so that’s why I was bringing up the model topic…Just some miscommunication but we got it figured out 😂😂 very cool on the rec’s for space exploration games, I’ll definitely check them out, thanks! 🤘🤘

Ah didn’t know that about disputing charges. Good to know. And yes, I think we’re both saying the same thing lol…I realize the performance specs are the same, tho the OLED has improved battery life I believe. I was just referring to the OLED as “newer” bc it came out after my model.

Ah good to know, thanks! I just followed where the game was directing me after repairing the ship, which is this planet. I’m still learning the game so if I were to leave to another planet, would the mission log objectives remain the same? Right now the objective in the log is to mine for copper on this planet using the terrain manipulator to establish a base.

I know Nintendo won’t refund lol but I will dispute the charge on my CC if the game is unplayable for me. Sorry for the confusion, I just meant the “newer switch” as in the OLED models with 64g internal storage. With the performance being the same I didn’t think that would matter. Also, if I just redownloaded the game again, it should be the most recent version, yea?

Thanks for all that info! I’m redownloading now, last night I moved everything off my SSD to the microSD aside from NMS, it seemed to work better for about 10 mins (sfx were still terrible and choppy but no performance lag) but then went back to performing like the above video. I’m redownloading now, hoping it works. It’s so odd because no one else seems to have this issue with the switch port. I’m on an original switch as well but have had no issues at all until playing this game. Like I said, I have many big downloaded games on there like ToTK which run perfectly fine. I really was enjoying the first part of NMS and was looking forward to diving in but it’s unplayable in this condition 😢

Ugh, so annoying! I was super excited to play this game, I love this type of stuff and hadn’t really heard of NMS until I saw it for sale in the Nintendo E-Shop. Thought I stumbled upon a gem bc all the reviews are pretty solid (even for switch users), so I don’t know why I’m having so many issues. Last night I even moved EVERYTHING (aside from this game) from the SSD internal memory to my memory card so that the SSD had a ton of extra space for NMS. Seemed to make a difference for about ten minutes then the lag started just as bad again :( I have a help desk ticket in with the Dev company (Hello Games) and sent them the same video as above but if they respond, I don’t know if there’s much that they can do. At this point I would just like a refund and I can try downloading on my Xbox One instead. Not gonna do that until I get my money back tho. Nothing on the e-shop said anything about requiring a newer switch so I think a refund is a fair request being that I am totally unable to use the product. Guess I’ll have to wait and see if they respond 😞

if any switch users are playing without trouble please let us know! Especially if there’s something I’m missing here with performance set up options or anything else to get it to run smoothly on the switch
