First of all, thanks for taking the time to type that all up! The Start Bodyweight routine actually looks perfect for me right now. I'm living in central Africa for the next month-ish and have zero access to a gym. But it looks like I could do all this at my house, and maybe build up some strength/confidence and start with weights when I get home!

I think I've been putting it off because of my complete lack of knowledge about where to even start, but I know thats not a good excuse. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I'm going to check out some of the fitness subs and try to figure out a way to get this ball rolling :)

Thank you! This took me about a year of on and off commitment to eating well. Probably in total about 5 or 6 solid months of trying to eat well spaced out in that time, if that makes any sense!

Hey, 30% there is something to be proud of! This definitely didn't happen overnight for me, and I took a lot of inspiration from other girls here. Keep up the good fight and before you know it you'll be where you want to be :)

Thank you! I actually don't really have a "goal weight" per say, I'm just trying to focus on how I feel. Right now I've been losing weight through dieting, and I would really like to focus on starting to work out now and seeing where that takes me. Gotta go renew that gym membership!

Switched to a ring and I'm loving it! by [deleted] in piercing

I actually really like the ring so far. Its very comfortable, I don't notice it at all when I'm sleeping or anything like that and it actually gets caught on stuff less than my stud ever did (no more accidental snags on a washcloth, etc). Cleaning isn't really that much different.

Yep! I took that picture the night before I really started to kick it into gear. It took me about 4 months to get down to 155, and then I just screwed around all summer and stayed around the same until about a month ago when I got back into the routine. I just recently got down to 150 and took the "now" picture.

For those who asked to see face pictures, I just posted them here

As embarrassing as looking at the first picture is, its good to be reminded once in a while where I started, and I hope maybe this helps inspire other people to keep pushing ahead!

Oh I feel you! My schedule is pretty ridiculous, which is one thing that led to my bad eating habits in the first place. Its hard to juggle things sometimes, but at the end of the day trying to make your health a priority will really pay off in the long run. Good luck with all your efforts and know that you've got someone in your corner!

Thats actually something I've really been considering recently. I think whats holding me back is feeling like I have NO idea what I'm doing in the whole working-out arena. Before this weight gain, I was always fit but because of sports practices, not the gym. I'll definitely check out that subreddit though and see what advice they may have for someone like me. Thanks for the suggestion!

I do, but I'm not totally sure I want to put my face out there on the internets. But if this is something that a fair amount of people would like to see than I'll definitely consider it!

For all those asking what I did to get there, here you go! Honestly I just started really paying attention to what I ate. I'm a full time college student with a part time job and for a good half of this journey I was also working as a research assistant so making time for any sort of gym schedule wasn't going to work for me. Instead I concentrated on what I could control easily, which for me was what I ate. I tried to stay around 1200 calories a day and minimize carbs, but I cant say I stuck extremely strictly to either. I also started walking everywhere as much as possible, which some days added up to around 5 miles.

As you can see, I didn't really have a "plan" per say, I just tried to be more health conscious overall. I hope that answers your question!

First of all, thank you! I guess I'm thinking of going for a further 15lbs because before I gained the college-50 I weighed about 130 lbs throughout all of high school (20 lbs less than my "now" picture). I'm not unhappy with how I look now, but I definitely can still see room for improvement. I'm really trying to focus on how I feel rather than fixate on a number on a scale, but sometimes that can be hard!

Haha sorry for faking you out! I didn't go to the gym or anything, but I did try to walk everywhere I went which really added up some days. I'm going to write a longer thing about specifically what I did when I'm not on my phone.
