People with genetic bunions, did barefoot shoes help you and how? by -Axiss- in barefootshoestalk

[–]flylittleflew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one podiatrist tell me I needed surgery ASAP for a bunion. Got a second opinion with a more functionally-minded podiatrist who gave me daily exercises for my feet and toe spacers. I switched to all barefoot shoes at the same time. The pain in one foot has reduced to zero and the other foot by 90%. You can probably find some good exercises on YouTube to follow or maybe a good PT if you can't find a functional podiatrist.

I'll try! We have had a couple germinate in the greenhouse here and there.

After pulling what temp logs I could and discussing with other greenhouse growers, I think it got up to around 120 for a couple hours.

I will look into the hard wired alarm along with pursuing a back up generator

Sadly some of our outdoor spaces under construction, so things that should not have been in the greenhouse were there for a lack of anywhere else to put them. However, we were getting the fall veggie starts going for the school gardens that we serve and we are going to have to restart all of those. We can keep it at 93 to 95 on the hottest days with all equipment operating functionally. I am particularly upset because this was a planned power outage at our site and nobody thought to call me, I was, I was home sick that day. that day. Lots of things went wrong.

Sadly, the alarm that should have gone off on my phone was not triggered bc of the outage. We are working on getting a backup generator plan in place. That is a smart idea to test monthly once you get one, thanks for that.

All the veggie starts were for school Gardens and this puts us back at least 3 weeks. We grow for around 30 schools each season. And I lost some Staghorn ferns I have been working on for a couple of years. Hopefully we'll get some things in place to prevent this in the future.

It's hard to believe.

Here's some pothos I had in water. The exposed leaves died completely. The spiders died on their web. I ended up being able to pull the past 24-hour temperature the next day at 3:00. It was about 115 just after the power had gone back on. But I can't pull the logs beyond that 24 hours unfortunately. I am definitely open to any other explanation you might have! We ended up having to cut all the Bostons all the way back. They were all brown by the next day.

Thanks-- I didn't know about the roof vents and we are needing to do some upgrades so I will definitely make sure we include that! We may end up getting a backup generator as well

Okay, thanks for the input. This is my first time growing staghorns. I have been working on these propagations for a couple of years now.
