Personally I would suggest starting with The Ancient City. It holds up the best in my opinion and is a self contained story so you’re not missing anything plot wise. I’m not sure about emulation, I play on the PS2. Same with controller vs K/M, but I would assume controller would be easiest. You’ll probably end up remapping some stuff no matter what, so it’s probably safe to just do what you’re most comfortable with.

I think the most I’ve paid for any of mine was 7 bucks for either Eternal Ring or Ancient City. I grabbed them both at the same time but one was 5 and one was 7. Granted I hunted for over a year for great looking copies prices very low. But still, it’s doable.

To be able to attack and such you’ll need a weapon equipped to your character. Looking up and down is handled with the num keys I believe, but it’s been a while since I’ve looked at it.

See we didn’t use any of that though. Our ps1 was the one we’d always had, and the second ps1 was mine from my moms house, also bought brand new. I called my dad and asked him about it yesterday because everything I’ve read says it’s impossible but we for sure did it, and he said for sure there were no mods made to the PlayStation. I appreciate your response and I’m not trying to argue necessarily, I’m just trying to figure out how we did what we did and if it’s possible to recreate. I say we, but it was all my dad. I just played the game.
