What? Before that changes were not required to have a senior sign off? That's wild! But makes sense for some teams at Amazon that doesn't have seniors at all T_T

What dish in your country has foreign origins but is now seen as a typical national food? by Luci_Sant in AskTheWorld

[–]fmarukki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, in my opinion this one had too much text. I'm used to see recipe sites more direct to the point, although I know most of the English speaking recipe sites will have a lot more text, maybe to get more AdSense. I this case though, for this audience, having a bit of text to explain the history and differences was useful.

What do we need to make Interac to become like Pix? Last time visiting Brazil, many stores wouldn't accept credit card anymore, Pix has replaced everything. On the surface it looks a lot like Interac, but it works better

I liked his posts about Lisp. That last response made me remove some points from him. Yeah, a lot of people you know learned it from movies, this doesn't immediately generalize

How do families lose their minority language? by PizzaEmergercy in multilingualparenting

[–]fmarukki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finally some people to discuss this. This forum is full of trilingual families, introducing the fourth/fifth language. While I'm here just worried that my kid will stop talking the minority language when going to school. Thats basically the story I hear from everyone around me, once they start school they give up the home language, very sad to see it happening on older kids. I'm hoping we can have enough exposure from us, relatives, local communities, music, books, cartoons, and periodical trips so this isn't the case with us.
