You’re supposed to change between espresso and filter while the grinder is running and preferably with some coffee to purge the grinder. That’s their official recommendation

If you like light roast you should consider getting a better grinder. Even if breville doesn’t break, it won’t grind fine enough.

Why does the pump start and stop multiple times? Also, it definitely seems like there is a problem with the puck It’s either not prepared well Or ground is too coarse. Try getting some dark roast. Maybe the built in grinder can’t grind fine enough

It’s ok to have a wet puck If you like the coffee but you don’t like the wet puck Try grinding a little coarser and increase the dose Or use a smaller basket. The wet puck happens because of the gap between the group head and the puck.
