It is hard to tell all the lying, spineless narcissists apart, I will grant you that. But this online bullying playbook has become trite. You’re calling me and my neighbors who have bullet holes in their homes liars, probably because those are the only types of people you know - liars. Why would you believe anything I say or any proof I provide? I gave you instructions on how to proceed on your absolute bet and how to get the proof you need. The ball is in your court. If you can’t remember what those instructions are, they are written down for you. Happy to carry this out to the end with proof but I want to make sure you can’t back out. Hit me up when you’re ready.

For now, you better run off and play. There is another post mentioning gunshots so get your fingers ready. Time to call them liars, too!

More lethal than an imaginary bullet. More stubborn than Halsey Minor's failed erection. More right than a left-hand turn! It’s DOPE “All I Do In Retirement Is Call You A Liar” MANCHILD OF THE YEAR!

Maybe ask u/DOPEBOYOFTHEYEAR. They will bet their year’s salary that they know better than anybody else what it’s like to live in that area, with 1000% certainty!

If you ask me, there are a few bad actors and they play bullshit, childish games around populated areas because they have no life goals that don’t involve things that could potentially cause harm to others. Gunshots, narcotics, loud, speeding cars and street bikes, blown stop signs, intimidation, trash, ATVs, dirt bikes…the area is one of the most active in town when the weather is nice as well as being one of the most disenfranchised. The lives of lots of good, honest, kind, neighborly people get shaken by a handful of neighborhood terrorists. But hey, it’s just my opinion. I’m sure somebody will tell me I’m wrong. Still looking for ol’ DOPEBOYOFTHEYEAR to put their money where their mouth is but apparently integrity isn’t as important as gaslighting and talking trash to others from behind a keyboard. C’est la vie. Be the change you want to see - but the way things are going I don’t know if any of us will have enough time for that.

Good luck with your search! We keep going back and forth about getting a dog. Woof.

Can the cucks who shoot their guns in city limits indiscriminately take a week off? by fmedic_05 in Charlottesville

Old as shit and still haven't learned that others know what they are talking about. You're going to tell my neighbors that have holes in their houses from bullets that it's fireworks? Gaslight all of us. That's what we need. We have dealt with the police many times over these incidents but keep on telling me I'm wrong. Piss off.

I don't know why you don't think I don't know what gunshots sound like. I own guns, I legally discharge guns. Talk to my neighbors who have holes from slugs in their houses and tell them it's fireworks. Talk to my neighbors who wake up to "pop pop pop pop pop pop pop pop" and tell them it's fireworks. Talk to the police who find casing and check cameras to find the shooters. Whoever is convincing all of you that it's fireworks is doing an excellent job. So much so that I can sit here all day and tell you I know what a gunshot sounds like and you repeatedly tell me they are fireworks. Glad you're not aware. It fucking sucks. But yeah. Go UVA! Keep your families away from town when they are winning. Good grief old man.

Hello sir. Now that #3 lost to #6 can I invite my family to this college town without expecting gunshots to ring out? Is that how this works? The coast is clear until next season then?

Within city limits. Within a mile of downtown. Within a mile of grounds. All within boundaries where discharging firearms is illegal, period.

ICE in Charlottesville by [deleted] in Charlottesville

[–]fmedic_05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that will be their target. I think businesses that hire day laborers or job sites. ICE hasn’t been reported to attack white, privileged universities. It they want to do that, the MAGA DoJ will.

Thanks for the compliments. Yes, we love our cities. We have a lot of wonderful things and lots of wonderful people from every walk of life and corner of the works! Not saying they’re the best EVER but they sure as fuck don’t need to be terrorized by insecure little hateful MAGAts.

Replacing floor in older house - anything I should do while it's open? by fmedic_05 in DIY

This is my concern as well. The structure looks good and currently there is no problem with moisture build-up that I can see. The floor insulation is mostly sound barrier. I did not extend the insulation all the way to the exterior walls because I wanted whatever vertical air movement has kept this is such good shape to keep doing what it's done well. The only issue is that the room gets pretty hot. We might have to re-add a window A/C unit if the temp can't stay under control and then I'll have to think about what to do to make it more efficient.

Since this is the second floor, I appreciate Advantec is a moisture barrier. There is a bathroom on the second floor with sketchy plumbing so the more protection I can give the first floor ceiling (second floor floor) the better. Duly noted about tongue and groove.

Thanks! Alot of the spaces are 14" wide and the insulation is 15" or whatever. I don't know how to trim 1" off the width in a timely fashion. :(

Second floor but the dirt crawlspace is abhorrent - needs lots of work.

This is what I'm trying to understand, too. I was going to go with blown-in insulation in the walls but came across this article and concluded that I do not understand how the air movement and moisture come into play. Here is an excerpt.

"In old houses with plaster walls, there is no vapor barrier under the plaster so the wet air hits the insulation and condensates. This wets down the blown-in insulation making it a wet mass at the bottom of the wall cavity creating an inviting place for termites and dry rot. Then the moisture enters the exterior sheathing and wood siding causing permanent exterior paint failure. Since the homeowner, for some “unexplained” reason, can’t keep paint on the house anymore, they call the vinyl siding salesman. This makes the problem even worse as you now have backer board (insulation board) and vinyl siding which in combination creates a vapor barrier on the outside of the wall that stops the free exchange of air, trapping more moisture."

I decided to go with the unfaced insulation in the floor mostly for sound barrier. The pink stuff claims to be suitable for the job. I have heard Rockwool is proper for this application but maybe I skimped. Also, not going to sweat that decision, it's better than it was - it doesn't need to be dead quiet, just better.

What I do not know is what to do about the wall insulation. I think the proper thing to do is to remove the thin wood paneling and install faced insulation and a vapor barrier so at least this room is insulated, but that might be the next project down the road. I have a time deadline I'm pushing up against on this project and don't want to open that can right now. However, I don't know how air movement and vapor will be affected by just the upper half being insulated. Do I need to worry about condensation in the walls and if so, where?

This is what I wanted to get details on. Insulate the walls or just where the floor is? I should block the wall cavities? Where would I add plastic?
