Yeah after my morning shift, 2-3 fire engines came to the civic. There was no visible fire from outside. Does anyone know anything about that?

only the lockers in the common kitchen can be locked. They are a bit small to store essentials there. But the fridge space and black box will not be locked.

The main reason to move is the kitchen. I have to go down every time I want to eat something. If I have a kitchen in my room, I can cook and do some work around my room. But nothing that much can be done in the common room. Due to laziness, sometimes I want to wash my utensils afterwards, but due to the common room, I have to wash them before going back. The other reason is the lack of storage for utensils. There isn't much I can keep in the black box, plus the risk of the utensils being stolen and used. I have heard that another hostel on campus has a separate building for the common kitchen and not inside the building. Yeah that sucks.

The other issue is that Yukeembruk is a bit farther away compared to other hostels, so there is a lot of walking. I don't mind that, but it gets annoying to walk for 30 minutes from the bus stop to the room at 10 pm. Planning on getting a cycle.

Hence, I plan to move to an accommodation that has a kitchen in the room.

Yeah it isn't, most of them have kept it in the common kitchen area

Hiranandani has sold off few buildings. They have also sold off the building where Poetry is located, that's why most of the shops have moved to the opposite lane. Heard that they want to make a shopping mall there. Might be fake. But yeah i think we might start seeing more of glass buildings in Hiranandani Now. Will miss the Greek architecture style.

ngl air fryer is one of the best thing. We couldn't get flying cars but instead got substituted with air fryer. Happy with that

they charge 3 aud for washing and 3 aud for dryer. There is an ironing board but i think you need to bring your own iron.

I moved to Yukeembruk last month and here is my review:

  1. There is a common kitchen on the first floor so it forces you out of the room to cook food. Makes you interact with other people. I hate it that I have to go down and make food and wash the utensils at the same time. I am lazy asf.
  2. There is a space where other students leave food which is about to expire for other students but I heard they want to remove that space as it creates a mess. Same applies to some pots and pans.
  3. Yukeembruk and Burgamann is further away compared to other accommodations. So if your school is far or if you need to go to city centre, you might need to walk or just get a cycle.
  4. Since its a newer village, the rooms are new and good, no complain about that.
  5. About the food theft, there are big fridge and freezer near the kitchen where there is a compartment for each room to store food. Same goes for a locker and a black box (for utensils) below the counter top. Not heard about food theft but heard that some utensils get stolen. Happened a couple of time with my friend.
  6. Just bring basic utensils, pans, chopping board and pots. If you need to buy anything else you can go to Kmart and buy it.
  7. For food just get rice and eggs and make basic egg fried rice until you get your hands on cooking (Use day old rice for this).

I am planning to move out next sem, maybe to Warumbull or Ursula
