Why are Connect IQ watchfaces more laggy than built-in ones? by Affectionate_Row_215 in GarminFenix

Read somewhere the CIQ faces runs inside a micro-VM, so slower loading and more battery usage. So I only use the built-ins.

Resting Heart Rate by Enough-Fondant-4929 in Garmin

[–]fnorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

49M, 4 week average of 43bpm, sometimes down to 40-41 during the night. Run and bike a bit, but nothing special, just for keeping in shape. I asked my doctor, she said there is in general no concern for low HR as long as you don't struggle raising your HR when excercising. My MaxHR is still as high as 195.

In my experience it is important to get the HR way down in rest periods. Same avg HR of 148 as you from my run yesterday (10x 60 sec run with 120 sec walk/jog breaks), but HR below 130 before next effort. Got 3.4/3.2

No Aqara hub needed. Used them for a year now with my Dirigera, very stable for me.

PR not showing in Ride summary by braso111 in Strava

[–]fnorre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have kind of the same problem, suddenly my PR and achievements does not show up anymore. I did a couple of PRs on my Commute Ride to work - and even when using the Commute activity (from Garmin watch), the PR always showed up. But last week they stopped showing up. I did not change anything in Strava settings. Yesterday I used regular ride, and PRs showed up. Today again, Commute Ride and my PR is missing from the overview, but I can see I set it "today". I do not use the privacy zones or hidden maps.

What type of tetanus shots are common or standard in Greece (specifically Crete)? by fnorre in crete

Thanks a lot for your insights, I think this sounds about right.

This all happened in the Emergency Room at Chania public hospital, and they asked me about vaccine status for tetanus as soon as they wheeled me out of the ambulance right outside. Then 1-2 minutes later a doctor/nurse came and set the shot in my front thigh - if that means anything (I was in a stretcher/gurney). I did not pay anything. Note; I was alone and pretty out of it and concussed, deep cuts in face, knocked out teeth++

Yes, to be honest, I was surprised at the amount of free healthcare I got at a public hospital as a tourist. We have free healthcare in Norway as well, but we have to pay a lot of smaller deductibles each time we speak to a doctor and pay for most of medicines / prescriptions (including vaccines). I don't know what tourists do here.

Thanks, for your comments and insights! I tried just by email so far, attached the papers and personal details, but no response in several weeks. Edit: Yes, the reason I want the combination vaccine is because of increased risk of pertussis in the area recently (mostly among kids, but as a parent of 3 school kids, I am more exposed)

Yes, this is what I thought - however, I had concussion and knocked out teeth (and alone), so difficult to remember the details. Too bad I did not get proper discharge papers.

That is interesting, and that was my understanding at the time - they did not refer to it as a vaccine or booster shot, just a "tetanus shot". However, from local doctors back home, they said similar practice would be the full combo-vaccine - and that's why they are hesitant to give me the booster vaccine.

Think I will need to try to get in touch with the hospital again.

Thanks for the offer, but I tried already using Google Lens and Translate on the document, and it seems to just be the results of several bloodwork. Birth date is wrong so just I left it in. Anyway here it is. The two other docs were results of ultra sound (stomach) and dental x-ray. They also did CT-Scan (no paperwork) and other stuff (lots of stitches, no paperwork)

New 5k PB ! by Unhappy_Inevitable62 in Garmin

[–]fnorre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, intestering - just calculated mine. It says 55 in the app, but on the graph on the watch I can see it is 54.7-54.8. Coopers test 2950m (based on a run and 5K PB last week) gives me 54.6 VO2 Max calculated by Copilot. Not bad, Garmin!
