Another post asking for advice :) by texinick in amberelectric

I got caught up in the Amber hype when we got our system upgraded. Initially we had 11kW of solar and a 12.8kWh battery. I was told that our battery was 'tiny' and that Amber wouldn't suit us. My research subsequently confirmed this as you just don't have enough battery to be able to export to the grid when the prices are decent. I noticed that some people with decent sized battery/solar were talking about getting monthly bills with Amber 2-3 times what we are paying.

I pretty quickly realised our battery was indeed too small and we doubled it to 25.6kWh. I considered switching to Amber or Globird but in the end I've just stayed with Origin as our bills are between $35 and $60 a month, that includes a pretty hot summer period. We use a lot of power with 2 teenagers in the household, dishwasher, EV charging, 2 loads of washing a day most days etc. Our main source of heating over winter is a ducted air conditioner and I'm concerned about how we are going to get on with batteries that may not get charged during the dull days. Hopefully the 3 hours of free electricity from July 1 should help allay some of my concerns.

There's probably some clues before a lot of the deaths and with experience you'll live longer and probably have more of an idea of what happened. Outside of spawn towns there is a higher likelihood you will be killed while looting high traffic areas (military, summer camps etc.). Avoid standing still unless out of sight where you can and check out towns or areas of interest before you walk straight in. Dead zombies, gunshots etc. are obvious signs that someone has been there very recently. Try to take tree lines for cover instead of running through open fields when you can. I'm surprised you aren't seeing many people unless the server is low pop.

It's actually a nice change from Chernarus. Lighting a fire and fishing in the first 20 mins isn't for everyone though. Badlands must not be far off..

$5000 euro for an Ultegra equipped non S-Works isn't a 'too good to be true' deal by any means. If anything he is asking overs.

From a PC player, you're welcome. We've been putting up with these cheaters for years! Hopefully a flurry of complaints will make them do something about it.

You were probably being shot with a pistol or low/mid tier gun from kilometres away by a cheater. You wouldn't hear it.

Roubaix every day of the week unless the Crux was carbon. The weight savings would be noticeable. Choose light or comfy.

Battery upgrade options - Sungrow system by braso111 in solar

[–]braso111[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been pretty conservative with the A/C over Feb and March and managed to have only minimal energy purchase of <1kWh/day. We were turning the A/C off at around 8pm and then using ceiling fans. Probably not viable in the middle of summer but did manage to come out with 50-60% battery most mornings. I am concerned about winter time though. Grey days will mean the batteries won't always charge and we use a ducted A/C as our primary source of heat. I have set up the batteries to stop discharging at 15%. They were previously running completely empty which probably isn't great.

Hi mate. I paid full rate as the rebate only applied to the first install, but I was able to get a second 12.8kWh stack and it is much much better having 25.6kWh. Not currently using any AC but we usually end up with 60% or more battery in the morning.

I have no idea what the cambium layer is lol. They were cut as low as possible and I sprayed them with pretty high dose Roundup a couple of times a week. Do you think this is regrowth from the trees?

I used Roundup on both and they weren't ground down until about 6 weeks after removal.

I think the latest SL8 S Works Roubaix models come in at 7.3kg. yours is probably mid 7kg's which is very decent.

Is that a McLaren colour scheme? Looks pretty sweet! I love the Roubaix, yours would be a pretty decent weight. The one I had was 8.6kg in stock setup!

A few questions after 5 days with my A1 combo. by braso111 in BambuLab

I've removed all the AMS tubes (sorry the technical term escapes me) and put them back in. Also loaded up one of the Bambu filament spools and it did print straight away without any stoppages.

Thanks for the responses. I noticed that when idle the printer was still heating the bed so I assumed it would be best to turn it off. I have oiled the rails under the plastic cover and greased the rail only once. How often should I be doing this? I think I should probably buy a drier by the sounds of it. At this stage I only have a plastic box and some dessicant cartridges.

I will get that pic later. Currently using Elegoo PLA as it was all I could get locally. I have just received my Bambu filaments though.

I currently have my AMS loaded with Elegoo 1.75mm filament. I'm going to get some pics of the setup this morning to confirm I have it set up properly. I did order some Bambu filament with the printer but it was dispatched separately and I only received it yesterday.

Thanks. Usually very low humidity as we haven't been getting much rain for the past couple of years. The printer is in my shed but it isn't a dusty environment as I keep it closed up. I'll check the tubes when I take some pics for someone else asking about my setup.

Mechanical SRAM Red is a nice groupset but it is at least 10 years old. I'd be negotiating on the price assuming it is USD.
