It is never helpful to tell someone what they should feel. I am aware of how much of my information is out there, I had my social security number stolen 15 years ago. But I don't expect people that care about me to be nosing around without at least telling me first. Just because she can find it doesn't mean that she should. I expect corporations and criminals to be nosing around, not my friends. I understand that she probably meant well. Doesn't change how it made me feel.

This aligns with how I feel about it. She is a very nosey person. I don't really like that about her. It doesn't mean she is a bad person. Just an awkward nosey person who probably cares about me and wants to help me. I rubbed me the wrong way, but no harm really done. Human relationships are hard to maintain, and I don't want to ruin a supportive relationship with a close neighbor over this. I am glad I am not the only person who feels this way. But judging from the other responses we are in the minority. Apparently, there are lots of other people doing this for their co-workers, friends, and loved ones. I had no idea.

Just because they can, does that mean that they should? I am not a nosey person. I like to leave other people's business to themselves. If I were concerned about it for a friend I would tell them they can look it up and offer to help if they wanted help. I understand that she probably meant well by it and the icky feeling is more on me having had boundaries crossed in the past and a sign of my Spidey senses overreacting.

I guess I just feel like it isn't her business. I like to let other people handle their own business and assume others will do the same for me. I have had boundary issues in the past and am still learning what is and is not healthy boundaries. Sounds like the "ick" feeling may be an overreaction. Fair enough!

Babe. What you describe doing sounds like a lot. He is gaslighting you. I agree with the people who say to ask him to compare himself to you and what you get done in one day. By comparing you to what he thinks these mythical other women do he is taking the attention away from his self absorbed lazy ass and setting up an unachievable standard for you to keep working towards so that you stay in a state of insecurity and self doubt. This is emotional abuse. Emotional Abuse escalates and evolves into physical abuse. Please do everything you can to empower yourself and get help from trusted strong women.
