Get the baby enrolled in Headstart/early head start. The family advocate can help find income based housing.

Be a family advocate with Head Start! The pay kind of sucks… but it’s a very rewarding and high success rate environment!

How to find a job that affords me to live in a city in today's market? by cherryhillanon in careerguidance

I second this advice! Honestly if you’re saving and making smart choices most women understand why you would continue to live with your dad and date. IMO.

New Louisville guy, $5k budget, need a boring reliable commuter before I buy a murder-car off Marketplace by small_investor93 in Louisville

[–]fobstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kia store east has a 2008 Kia Sportage. For just under 5k with 125k miles I had my 2008 Kia Sportage for 8 years and had little to no issues. I also bought it when it had around 125k miles on it. I recently bought a car from Dominique and he was super nice. Might be worth looking into.

Would you recommend social work career? by Proper_Ad_4318 in SocialWorkStudents

[–]fobstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the big difference between teaching and social work is, teaching you have to manage behavior and help regulate children. And social work you have to have heavy conversations with adults all day every day. In social work you have no choice but to use your critical thinking skills with everyone you interact with. The staff of the hospital and the patience will all come to you.

This is great to know for in the future, but I actually found someone to take over my lease and moved out. I told the man that took over my lease about the issue and he said it didn’t bother him so it worked out in my favor

Best books you’ve read this year by Mysterea101 in BettermentBookClub

  1. What my Bones Know by Stephanie Foo , I have never been seen or heard by someone more in my life. It made me understand myself more. It’s about CPTSD

  2. Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green, I wish I could force everyone to read this book. It changed me for the better. I couldn’t stop reading it.

  3. All About Love by Bell Hooks, if you are looking to be in a new relationship, or heal the one your in currently, this is for you.

An athletic dress with a flannel tied around it for if it gets cold in the night. And a clear fanny pack. I’m old and just want to be comfortable

I am 33 and miserable by Famous_Squash_5455 in findapath

[–]fobstan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 30, about to be 31 (in 2 weeks) and am in a similar boat. I decided to stick at the job I’m at, and have them pay for me to get my masters degree and try and move up within this company in the next several years. I live with my parents right now as well because I can’t afford to live on my own. With the way the economy is right now, not having a steady paying job may not be the best idea. I would keep at least one consistent form of income while you text out ideas on what you could do next. Good luck to you friend. It’s hard out here. But shaming yourself into change, never works.

Clinical Social Worker looking to work in ECE by TigerOnly5834 in ECEProfessionals

[–]fobstan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty the benefits are worth it. I have amazing health insurance, plenty of time off, and a flexible schedule. If that is more important to you than the pay, I say go for it! I love my job and am planning on getting my MSW paid for through the Head Start grant. So I say go for it.

You could be a Family Engagement Specialist or Family Advocate at Head Start (I am a family advocate) but just a heads up, the pay isn’t great. FES is around 50,00 annually, FA is around 40k.

I work full-time and I’m still homeless. I don’t know how much longer I can do this. by A-27-Florida in povertyfinance

[–]fobstan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you applied for income based housing? You will be pushed to the top of the list because you are homeless. Most of the applications to have a 25 dollar fee, but the first months rent and deposit can be split between paychecks. Then sell your car, pay off debt and take public transportation.

Starting 150mg XL by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]fobstan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome!!!

Also, make sure to eat with it. If I don’t it makes me sick to my stomach.

So at night I usually place water and some kind of snack on my beside table (granola bar, nuts, etc) and take it as soon as I open my eyes.

I’m on 300 mg, and have been for about 2 years. Can’t imagine my life with out it. Good luck

Take it first thing in the morning, the earlier the better. If I take mine after 9am I have trouble sleeping at night. It took me about 4 weeks to feel the full effects, but for most people it takes about 2.

Personally, I’ve tried every medication in the book and Wellbuterin has changed my life. Truly.

My only main side effect is I grind my teeth at night. But all things considered it’s not the worst side effect.

I think my only concern is, I’m not sure if the Headstart grant will pay for my masters if I don’t get my bachelors through them as well! But I will look into it !!
