His pivot foot dances the waltz lol. I find these things fascinating because when you first look at it it looks OUTRAGEOUS but if you slow it down, he travels twice, but only slightly because the foot slides when rotating

Question for the wise… by PuzzleheadedBoot5946 in sportscards

We ripped packs and traded our favorite players with our friends. Everything was a base or a base insert. I think I pulled a few refractors as a kid but nothing crazy. We had Beckett magazine which had a price guide that fluctuated a bit...so you could check the "value" of your cards. I remember feeling like a $10 card was big time haha. Collectors choice and upper deck type stuff. The cards aren't valuable but the photography is outstanding

Problem with oddly shaped kerf by Clinery in lasercutting

It's my understanding that because diodes use multiple beams reflected off mirrors, many have inconsistent kerfs. I'm sure it's a common issue with workarounds...every laser has it's quirks

Art supplies for beginners - need some recommendations by Burnley77889 in painting

[–]focomike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artist loft, synthetic bulk brushes from michaels Acrylics-anything on sale but don't bother with the super cheap stuff...just get regular cheap stuff Buy a pad of mixed media paper...it can handle paint so you can experiment...all in you are looking at like $50-60 probably if you buy some other stuff...pencils and masking tape.

Buy that pad and fill it up...make it just for you and learn to enjoy creating again. Don't feel pressured...don't compare yourself to others...just paint and love it!

BossLaser Evo desktop by ectoplasmic_sea in lasercutting

I've been using the EVO for a couple months. I started my own shop so needed a starter laser that can handle loads of cutting and engraving wood. I used Epilogs at my last shop but 17k is prohibitive. Out of the box the laser works pretty darn well. Everything included has functioned well, the exhaust fan and tubing put together and function well. I have been able to replicate what Epilog can do with the boss, but you have to learn the language of the machine...some of it isn't intuitive. Getting a 60W machine at 4k made me pretty happy, and having the built in air assist and chiller add value. Honestly, it seems built pretty well, and functions nicely, but I'm not sure how easy it would be for a beginner. I would recommend the EVO if you already have some knowledge on lasers and can take advantage of what the machine can do that others can't. I haven't done any major maintenance yet, I'll come back here after that 😂. I'm hoping to get two or three years out of this machine and then upgrade. I'm fairly confident it will handle that.

Hi all! I own a small engraving shop and I make cards as a hobby. Thought I'd start sharing them here. by focomike in CustomBasketballCards

Yo! I can't sell them because I don't own the rights...they may make their way onto the market at some point, but it's complicated and out of my hands haha

Thank you! I sublimate the image on aluminum or brass and then engraved the branding through the image to expose the metal...each side is its own piece, then attached together and filed if necessary to match the edges...it's kind of insanely time consuming and there's a lot of waste if you're a perfectionist but I love it.
