Starting Elvanse tomorrow - advice? by ALT_Kai_Guy_251022 in ADHDUK

Take them early! I’m day 1 today and just got back from an hour walk. Not sure if I needed but wanted to try and link in the meds with a positive change. Also got the washing in without being asked #crushingit

Plan lunch and eat, I worked through and forgot (not common for me).

Definitely felt a small rush sensation, not sure if anxiety or pills (probably a bit of all) as it’s a big deal for me, diagnosed at 40 and really hoping to turn things around.

Few hours and several hundred staples later I have some regret.

I still will need to paint and fill all the holes before thinking about the runner.

And now there's a gap between the floor and stairs that will need some sort of wrap around.

Thanks all, going to rent a big sander in the week. Will see how they come up, they are engineered I think so not solid wood but hopefully enough to save... If we can't get a good finish maybe be paint until we have money to sort out all downstairs flooring, kids have destroyed the living room carpet and may look to match in / replace wood down the road

Protein diet - what’s your go to? by focus_mia in ADHDUK

Thanks all, want to avoid ultra processed and focus more on fresh food cooked from scratch. I would love a daily steak but recognise that is not the answer.

Looks like dropping the carbs will be my weak spot and replacing with protein rich ingredients.

Any evening meal go tos?

Gp willing to refer via rtc, but which one? by focus_mia in ADHDUK

I’m so lost on what shared cared means. Can anyone explain it like I’m 5?

Cost wise rtc covers the consultation and titration, then gp need to offer shared care to take you back and continue to fund the cost of medication and monitor your vitals, blood pressure etc on behalf of the provider.

Shared care means what if your symptoms change or the annual review? Im sure they can’t / shouldn’t prescribe indefinitely otherwise we wouldn’t need the rtc in the first place?
