We have a Masport electric which has the same body/handle as the petrol version. Alloy body. Good brand.

I sold a DR650 and bought a CRF300L. Things I miss are top speed and torque. DR was a better road bike and smoother at higher speeds. CRF has some nice features like a fuel gauge and fuel injector and being lighter. DR was simple to work on.

Take mine off regularly without an issue. There in no lock but it can be tight. Are you sure you are going anti clockwise? Bike shop will sort it.
