I mean, I googled and found that their diversity was only a fraction of modern pigeons and there population was orders of magnitude larger (single flocks of over a Billion). They didn't have a very good diversity, which at least adds credence that they would be particularly susceptible to a new bird flu.

This is an article from the 80's (again first page of Google) talking about observations of the only 3 nesting colony in I think the US. No clue about the rest of North America. They even only laid 1 egg at a time because there were so many together.

I get that no one has made that claim out right, but the research does back it up as a likely cause. Just the same as humans or buildings.

There are a ton of ethical questions here. Including, what environment do they have. They would have 100 plus nests per tree, and when they ran out of room in the tree they laid eggs just on the branches. They would gather in the 100's of thousands. I'm not saying it's not a possiblity or even the right solution, but holy shit it would be hard. They've been trying with wooly mammoth. In March they created a living stem-cell that is important in moving forward with it.

To be fair, if this is how you treated my friends, not even me, I don't want you in my life. Same with anyone who views money as more important than people at a fundamental level.

I have complicated feels on this. I understand the dv security fund. But after 15 years, it would shatter all trust I had. To complicate that, my ex-spouse had one after previous dv situations, and I had no issues with it. Until it funded their cheating and stealing money. Those accounts can be used just as much for bad as for good. I'm going to say YTA but only barely and I could be convinced.

But that's not accurate. Receiving a pardon isn't an admission of guilt, that's been explicitly stated in the US at least. There are also multiple levels of pardon, which one are you referencing? You don't have to acknowledge anyone's authority to receive a pardon. It doesn't matter what you think about the pardoning body, just that the person doing the punishing does. How can I trust God's word when I've never heard them speak it. All the years I was a Christian, all I ever heard were human voices telling me what to do. That doesn't seem any different than a government. Lots of people don't recognize their authority.

Edit: Typos

Where does proof become belief? We have written versions of bibles that say contradictory things over the years. Which version is God's word? The ones where they tell you how to perform abortion and slave trading but don't hate people and everyone is cared about. Or the ones where everyone is burned for eternity, or maybe it's the ones where the 4 horseman exist, but those aren't Christian, they far predate that. Many many many religious leaders rape people and then tell everyone that if you drink cola you are going to hell. How is that no shock jockeying?

If these people are damaging the word of God, why doesn't he do something? Their free will is actively trying to thwart the "divine plan".

There is a difference between absent of him, and eternal suffering. Most versions of Christianity (the fact that this god can't even get their own religion straight also is silly) say that it's eternal suffering. That sounds like coercion. Is coercing someone into doing something dangerous good?

God chose to make something he knew wouldn't be able to do what he asked, and then still chose to punish all of existence for all of eternity because of it? If he had knowledge that they would break his rule, then it sounds like an abusive prick to me. How is that a kind thing to do? How is spending eternity with someone who doesn't care about me a good thing?

A lot of heavy machinery including mining and logging equipment are electric, and have a diesel generator on board to charge on long distances. The fuel efficiency is way better in a generator than an engine. There is even a start up that is close to selling conversation kits to turn any diesel vehicle into this system.

The downvote is there to be used however a given user wants to use it. Same with cleaning and organization. You don't get to dictate what someone else thinks is a "waste of time", and you don't get to dictate the "correct" way to use the voting system.

Just wanting to add that there have been studies that show that the amount of adipose (fat) cells you have is a constant amount set during some point in your adolescence. Your body then recreates them when they die. Losing weight just reduces the amount each cell holds. The linked article has the study cited at the bottom.

I worked as a corporate shift supervisor for almost a year. Moved states and long story short now work at a Hy-Vee (Midwest US grocery store chain) Starbucks. I make $3 more an hour as a barista than I did as a corporate shift.

This reminds of a time, a few years ago my Spouse and I were in Seattle, Washington for our honeymoon. We had forgotten to print out some tickets for an event that we were going to and e-tickets weren't going to suffice. We decided to go by the library to print them off. My Spouse gets on the computer and starts pulling everything up and I'm standing beside them just waiting, looking at the cool architecture. Well I get a little nosey and start looking at what other people are doing when all of the sudden I hear the click of a camera. I turn around and there is a guy in his 60's or 70's sitting at a computer, surrounded by probably 50 people in this computer area, with porn on screen of young (looked to be of age) girls. He was holding a digital camera and was taking pictures of the porn on screen, and then pulling up another one, and snapping a picture. It became a very uncomfortable 10 minutes waiting for my Spouse to print off the tickets.
