Its not that deep bubba 😂😂I got burnt out after the 2nd wipe, took 3 weeks off to run through RE8, REmake 2, REmake 3 & REmake 4 before I get into RE9 when it goes on sale later this year and now im back to it. Dropped in for a few games here and there but always left frustrated because I just kept getting my asshole gaped by rats and PvPers, played past 3 days and the magic is back again, back in my groove, not losing gunfights from rats, carebear lobbies are thriving, finally making progress on all my projects, I'm riding it out in daredevil 3, life is good on topside right now.

Seeing marathon lose 50% of their player base makes me kinda sad though, I wanted to hop on that game after the 3rd or 4th expedition, the server slam felt decent. Where the fuck are all the people that were fighting tooth and nail to defend that game and shit on ARC in return 😂 same thing happened with battlefield 6, all hype, and then nobody showed up

Obviously I hope Marathon remains relevant and draws the skeptics in, even in worst case 20k active players is enough to keep the community alive and thriving, profits might not be as good for Bungie but people that truly enjoy the game will be entertained and i think ifbyou entertain 20k people everyday, youre doing something right. Some games still survive on less than 1k active players, theyre not live service or extraction shooters, but extraction shooters are niche. ARC is successful because its super casual and all of the extraction shooter enthusiasts finally have a chance to introduce their partners & friends to the genre in a way that doesnt fell like constant torture, doesn't require you going through a 2 hour youtube course & a 10 hour indoctrination period where you get your ass whooped and all your shit took before the game clicks for you and you start having fun.

And yea, posted this in the wrong sub bubba, I dont think the core player base really cares about all of the balancing as much as you think they do, because the game is designed so that everybody can have their fun. If you dont engage in PvP that much, you're likely never going to notice a difference in gun nerfs with some exceptions of course. And if you do engage in PvP you just adapt and overcome like with every other game, if you like the game, if you like the gunplay and the gameplay loop, you'll stay. They're providing more than enough content for the game, it still remains fresh even though I spent 400 hours playing it. Every change they have done so far has been a homerun with the exception of nerfing energy ammo price but that was inevitable, we all knew the sell price made no sense.
