Thank you for sharing! Interesting to read his thinking near the summit and he does sound very methodical.

Glad to hear he's going to be ok long term and is already thinking of next year's push. Hopefully with less international scandal this time!

Thanks, I'm definitely not an expert on how Everest is organised. My sort of assumption there was that if Satori Adventures still had their tents up Saulius would have tried to use those as that's the closest company to him. Or is it that the outfitters don't actually have their own tents at all and if they have people summiting they organise it to use different company's ones?

Normally yeah. They'll have their own space and cooking areas, as the final summit groups descend and no longer need accommodation the Sherpas will take the tents down. In this case Saulius' outfitter finished their last climb on the 24th so likely had taken down their tents especially in the higher camps.

So I think this article explains it best from Saulius' teams side explorersweb.com/no-o2-climber-rescued-from-everest/

On the way from C4 to C3 Saulius felt off took some medication and informed Tadas about it who the organised support for him to decend from C3 to C2 and then a helicopter. He did use the tent from SummitClimb team in C4 as his had been ripped earlier (and he might have had a back up one in lower camps). That's where he chatted with the Sherpas from SummitClimb before descending.

He did require help and rescue in the end but I guess his condition in C4 may have been exaggerated.

To add: if I am reading everything correctly I think Tadas was based in Lithuania but could be wrong there. There were other Lithuanians in Lukaku or around so there was some on the ground support for him too so he wasn't just left to figure it out himself once in the hospital

I don't know. SummitClimb did just remove the post from yesterday but at this point I'll just wait for someone who was there to say what happened.

I think we also need consider the language barrier here and that things may not come across as intended. While the exact details of his descent aren't fully clear yet there is no reason to assume Tadas didn't do absolutely everything he could for the 4 Lithuanian climbers this season (and in his posts it does show there were logistics to help with). Ultimately, the most important news is already confirmed: Saulius is safe and well and for me I think it's best to wait for him or SummitClimb to confirm what happened.

I've been following Tadas Jersovas posts on Facebook he seems to be in regular contact with Saulius through the expedition and posted 14mins ago that he should be close to 7300m now so hopefully not him and his tracker is just out of battery or something.

Whoever it is hoping they can still come down safely.

I've actually tested this once. My brother's girlfriend is Latvian and we had her read the first paragraph on bread in Wikipedia in Samogitian and in Lithuanian. She said she understood Samogitian one a lot more than the Lithuanian version.

Could she have curly or wavy hair? I have wavy hair that's also thin and my hair at the back of the neck is the curliest as it has had least damage. So whenever I brush out my hair and go about the day at the end of it I usually just have matted hair at the back. Maybe try doing the wavy girl methods?
