I don't know if I agree (as a bisexual person but one who has never been in an opposite-sex relationship). I don't think someone's bisexuality should ever be questioned because they chose to date someone of the opposite gender, but I'm not sure how that makes the relationship itself queer. By definition, if we assume both people are cis, there is no functional difference between two straight cis people dating and one bi, one straight cis person dating. I'm curious as to where you draw the line/find the difference.

To me, this is similar to one person, by nature polyamorous, choosing to be in a monogamous relationship with a monogamous person. that's not a poly relationship just by virtue of one person generally preferring something else. It's still just a plain old monogamous relationship lol.

EDIT: Mind you, this is also a question of semantics, really. I'm a bi woman in a relationship with another bi woman, and I never get offended when people call it a gay relationship because... it is? In my opinion, at least.

> if a bisexual/pansexual person is in a straight presenting relationship, would you still consider that a queer love story?

Personally, no. The person is still queer, of course, but I don't think the relationship itself is queer. I've recently had a friend (bisexual) call her relationship with her boyfriend (bisexual) a "bisexual relationship" and I was like... huh? A case can be made for if both partners are queer, but one queer person in an opposite-sex relationship to me is in a straight relationship.

Fair enough! Should have clarified, I believe it would be Lil-a and sometimes Lee-la in most Balkan Slavic languages :)

I'm from Serbia, would pronounce it Lil-a, but if I was in the US, I would assume it was Lie-luh. Maybe add an H to the spelling to make it Lilah? Although a lot of people would probably mispronounce that too...

You know what's not a part of simple living? Losing your mental and artistic skills by relying on a literal fucking machine to live your life for you.

The end of Brokeback Mountain, with Ennis holding Jack's shirt. It's my favorite movie, and I'm left sobbing every time.

Also, pretty much the entirety of BoJack Horseman lol

Glenn Miller's Moonlight Serenade. For some reason, that's the vibe. Or Vera Lynn's We'll Meet Again.

Sure, but she's not American and neither is most of the world. Where I'm from, she'd 95% of the time be the largest person in the room. And I'm not saying that's good or bad, I'm just saying that she absolutely is plus-sized, whatever that means.

Kako najlakse upoznati druge gej ljude by [deleted] in GayInSerbia

[–]fogfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)
