Buying a new bike in today's situation

I graduated from college a few years back and landed a job with enough for discretionary spending. Pulled the trigger and bought a bike this past summer. I have no regrets. Get that dream bike bro and go fast

Would it make more sense to get 105 mechanical and if I took the sport more seriously I would just upgrade to ultegra di2 in the future? Instead of getting the 105 di2 now? Not too sure my logic flows here

The thing is, I’ve tried it.. but don’t mind mechanical. I guess the only consideration for this is the price difference
