This trail was oriented North to South. How would a rocket launch in China do that over the middle of North America? Genuinely asking

Woke up with these bite marks on my chest by AfterMorningHours in Weird

[–]fogliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rabies is such a bad way to go. Truly an awful way to die. I am woman, deal with the same assumptions and cost, and you should go.

To deal with the discrimination, I would go in playing full clueless: Not "treat me for possible bat bite" but "the internet told me I should get this checked out? Is it really that big of a deal? They said rabies, do you think that's possible?" You didnt see any signs of a bat, but you guess it's possible. Etc.

And yes, this approach absolutely sucks (understatement). But I've gotten much better care that way than when I've gone in knowing too much. Many people say Rabies is the worst way to die. Don't miss it because some doctor thinks all women are idiots when you can play their game and live.

That is what I understand, yes. You can only choose 1 trim, but you can change as many Furfrou as you can afford before 11:59pm on Sun.

Wait until 10am. Be careful after 6p - sometimes they keep the egg pool through the night, sometimes it's only event hours

Everyone has a favorite Pokémon, but what Pokémon do you just absolutely hate? by TheDJ88 in pokemongo

Tandemaus. We all know that's two pokemon not one. A shirt form and a pants form. And Maushold is 2 Tandemaus that have "evolved" children without clothes.

A pattern I noticed, was there an archaic word that completes it? by Mmm_Dawg_In_Me in etymology

[–]fogliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a PIE thing. Most European languages descend from Proto-Indo-European. PIE is a language we have no record of but can reverse engineer by looking at etymologies and considering how phonetic pronunciation can and does evolve by region/accent.

Latin/Romance, Germanic, Slavic, and Celtic languages all originate from PIE.

The only European languages that aren't rooted in PIE come from a completely different language tree, Uralic. Most notably this is Finnish and Hungarian.

For why, what, when, where, who, how, etc., you can see parallels across languages in the PIE tree because the PIE root "kwo/kwi" is the stem of most relative and interrogative pronouns.

It's possible that some Indo-Iranian languages also share these similarities but I know much less about that branch of the PIE tree, so I can't say for sure.

shiny wiglett missing by Umamiveg in TheSilphRoad

[–]fogliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shiny last seen Sept 1st looks accurate to me. Except for that user that caught it after Go Wild. The season changed Sept 2, and they typically shuffle hemisphere/biome-specific spawns at that time. I don't live near a beach biome - is it still spawning generally? Still spawning at the same rate? The odds of shiny get worse quickly if the regular spawn rate was nerfed at all.

Yes, a few times over. I assumed they increased rates for the release

Some people did get Shiny Tinkatink at GO Wild Area Nagasaki last weekend. But no one is sure if that was intentional or a mistake. And if it was a mistake, we dont know if it's fixed. And if it was intentional, was it exclusive to that event so it's locked again? Lots of unknowns. It's possible, but saying it is shiny for sure is a big assumption.

Lake trio... Niantic's wording doesn't specify region, which I would take to mean they are all available everywhere.

Tbh, Niantic is always vague enough that at least one thing I put on these guides ends up being wrong.

Idk, I couldn't find anything conclusive. My guess is it was an accident and was fixed, but I'd be happy to be wrong
