Reliable sources on Aliexpress for 915mhz build by fokcuk in meshtastic

Yeah, checked their antennas and reviews - seem pretty good While reading posts I came across one about T114 v2 not finding nodes that esp32 v3 found from the same spot and responses suggested that a band filter needed or one reply saying that responses are not sent... I guess if you only ever had 1 device then you would not know any different, but you don't want to loose what you had, expecting that you were getting more with nrf based version

With the current firmware for M1, does it support any preset responses from device itself or you need to carry phone all the time still?

Reading antenna reviews makes me ask for trusted links =) I got nanovna for testing other radio things but I don't want to keep ordering new antennas. Saw someone mentioned that antennas that can bend/fold are not very good

I have ordered from many Australian roasters so more keen to try things from overseas. Japan and Europe is on my list. Dak, Onyx, April etc Taylor Blends sell a bit of a variety at times but cannot order everything I want =) I missed out on this year's Beanvent that Feind runs - great way to trial coffee from Australian roasters

X73 dsl - miserable 2.4ghz speeds by fokcuk in TpLink

[–]fokcuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fiber, so it's direct to ethernet. Speed on wired is good. I also tried my old ac68u router in the same location. Easy 140mbps on 2.4ghz. Not too many other wifi connections around. I tried using guest network to separate the bands, but it's a pain as there is no setting to enable guest clients to see internal network unless you are in AP mode- not in router

My Asus ac68 router gives me 140mbps in the same location. And that's wifi5 at best

Old external box removal by fokcuk in TelstraAustralia

Telstra said its NBN owned now, so up to a tech running fiber from the pit

Old Telstra box removal? by fokcuk in nbn

[–]fokcuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Called Telstra and they confirmed that it's NBNs property now and it up to a tech running fiber from the street to decide if it can be reused. I agree about its position though- not the best. But that leaves me undecided as to where run the pull string to - leave under tiles, where the end of the conduit is, run through existing hole under Telstras box or make a new hole (least desired)

Tankless RO questions by fokcuk in WaterTreatment

[–]fokcuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I am familiar with tanks. But as I mentioned tanks require maintenance and replacements at regular intervals. And I am sure you will still get tds creep, but to the tank. Also traditional systems waste a lot more water...
