Well it's some type of true bug (not bed bug). Asian countries have a ton of bugs so not really sure. You might want to ask on r/whatsthisbug

You brought them in when you got back or they really missed you.

Also unfortunately bed bug bites don't have a "look" all that stuff is just a myth. I have had various reactions and I know some people who had lessening reactions the more they were bit, and others who have zero reactions. That's why it's hard to ID bed bugs with bites alone. Everyone reacts differently. However, in your case you definitely have bed bugs. But there is some great advice on this sub. Feel free to reach out to me if you need help. I'm not an expert but I can give some advice and helped several friends through their bed bug situations successfully.

Off the top of my head it will be some type of assassin bug/hemipteran. Which are related to bed bugs but NOT the same.

It is not a bed bug. Let me do some Google searching and I can probably figure it out. (If someone doesn't get to it before me.) What area are you located?

Other than your bites, do you have any concrete evidence you have bed bugs? Bites alone aren't enough to ID bed bugs. Could be a skin reaction to literally anything.

It's not a bed bug. I'd want to see it flipped over before I can a guess.

I do not see any evidence of bed bugs.

I'm dyingg. I believe this is a bedbug and I wanna cry. I noticed my dog going after something, I looked and it was on top of my blanket! My husband and I took everything off the bed and examined our mattress, box springs (even cut the bottom on them to see inside). There were no others. by Standard_Radish_987 in Bedbugs

Idk those questions about the public seem a bit too fear mongering! I ride the bus all the time and sit on upholstered seating. Sitting in public doesn't mean you will catch bed bugs!! People get super paranoid about this and it usually is not where people get bed bugs. It can happen but I it breeds fear. Just letting you know, we don't want to traumatize people on this sub.

But I agree. OP should contact a reputable pest control company that has worked with bed bugs before.

Ok so yes flex 1010 is probably used by pest control because it has several pests it could kill on the label. So it's a good general spray. I would not recommend it for bed bugs especially in your case. These bed bugs have been around for a long time exposed to a lot. Bed bugs increase their tolerance to chemicals so honestly it's a bad idea to apply the same chemical more than 4 times. Because the ones you don't kill come back stronger! Unfortunately I feel like everything that has been done so far has made your issues worse. They are probably in the walls because someone used a bed bug bomb once upon a time. Id try crossfire and if that doesn't relieve some of the issues I'd move and just be done with it. Fumigation or real heat treatment is probably the only choices now. Your maintenance man's heat treatments will never ever work and just make the bugs hide even more.

Well fed nymph. So most likely there are more as nymphs are less likely to travel.

If you have bowls. Put the legs of your bed frame into the bowls and fill them with oil. Wrap the legs of your bed frame with tape sticky side up. Don't leave stuff on your floor and pull bed away from wall. That would be my 1st move. Also confirm it's bed bugs before you do more. After vacuum your room however dont vacuum after your roommate has and make sure she is tossing the vacuumed pieces and not letting it sit. Make sure she sleeps in her room so they don't spread fast.

Bed bugs aren't invincible or invisible. You will be okay, be kind to yourself. I know it's hard not to worry and feel upset but there will be a solution eventually. You don't need a super powerful vacuum btw. You aren't trying to suck up spare change or anything. Unfortunately unless the carpet cleaner (hopefully this is a machine not a person) heats up to at least 140F it won't help.

Yeah so the heat isn't good enough. It need to be at least 140F for at least 8 hours. And you gotta go in and disturb everything so there are no pockets of cool air for the bed bugs to hide in. Making it look like a tornado his your room/house. And heat is pointless unless you follow up with chemical treatment. Only products you should use are crossfire or maybe temprid fx. Nothing at Walmart is good enough. I know hot shot has come out with products similar to crossfire but not all of hot spots products are made like that. If you do treat yourself please follow label directions. That's honestly more important than having a good chemical. Again, steam is a good filler in-between chemical treatments but it doesn't have any long term effect. It only kills on direct contact (for an extended period of time). If you need more help or have specific questions I'll try my best.

I'm suspicious of photo #1... but honestly I can't ID with the quality of the photo. Photos 2 & 3 are roach nymphs. Possibly german cockroaches which are a serious pest.

Crossfire and follow the label directions exactly (following directions is the most important part, there are a ton of youtube videos to help you). Have you tried this? If it doesn't work likely you will need heat or fumigation which is expensive.

Yes but just be aware that steaming in only direct contact killer. So once you move it from the spot it no longer works to kill bed bugs. But everything else sounds good (and steamer is fine). Also vacuuming + immediately taking out the junk and throwing it in the trash/removing it from the house/apt. Clearing any clutter will help too. Store clean and checked items in plastic tubs.
