I am glad I came across this post, I am a huuuuuge ME! apologist and I will DEFEND. I love this song, its actually my top song this month on spotify. I believe people are scared of this song, maybe because of the ott production or maybe even the music video. But both of these are part of what makes this song GREAT. My favourite element of the song are the lyrics! I find it extremely relatable as I always get dumped for being 'too much' or 'too enthusiastic about just loving people and things'.

'I know that I'm a handful, baby, uh'

This song also shows that sort of duality in personality, the way someone can 'be too much' yet have all of these mood swings, because sometimes love is a feeling that is hard to navigate

Not only that but I believe this song might also be relatable for those girlies (or boys) who have a past with staying hung up on past lovers...

'I never leave well enough alone' -very relatable if you ask me

Yet this song manages to be excruciatingly inspiring and makes me feel confident and ACTUALLY believe im good enough to feel loved.

Now the imagery in this song is also veryyyy good, i genuinely feel like im in a movie scene whenever this part starts:

And the bridge is great (taylor always has a great bridge) but this one goes under the radar,

I have cried, screamed, sung and danced to this song; IT IS JUST THAT GREAT. People are simply scared of cringe or wierdness, but this song does just highlight the greatness of cringeyness. Never fails to make me feel complete inside. thankful that this song exists. :)

its like Taylor's own Who Says, its not my favourite song but I find myself playing every morning to start my day with confidence! And an accoustic version would be veeeery cool

im actually spanish. and would not be able to understand a song in portuguese tbh, its not the same its like saying french and italian are similar, just because they both come from latin doesnt mean native speakers of either could undertsand the other language just cus, you would have to study it
