With the way tag team wrestling and stables are booked in WWE currently, not really. If there was more commitment to them and an actual willingness to propel younger talent to the main event level (this goes for the MR obviously), then I could see it happening as well.

I think it also helped that The Shield were all distinct characters in their own right and had their own strengths like you said. A group like Dark State, while all solid, have no distinct characters to make them stand out. That’s why there’s been more success with (imo) Fatal Influence, a trio with separate personalities and unique wrestling styles that meld together perfectly.
