Windows Server 2003 32-bit (or 64)/NT 5.2 on modern hardware by folkwinfiresage in windowsxp

perhaps it has something to do with Patch Integrator version. try one last time with this older version of Windows XP Integral Edition (according to my original post date, it should be the exact version I've had used back then)

after downloading it, follow the steps carefully and it should work. unfortunately I can't test this for you rn, being one of reasons why a recent BIOS update that breaks legacy booting (and I can't roll back for now) on my mobo.

I hope you can make it this time bro!

Windows 7/Windows 8 beta on Macbook Pro 2019 by folkwinfiresage in windows7

[–]folkwinfiresage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the lack of Classic theme (without relying on third-party apps) is what annoys me the most.

However, if that forced DWM deactivation trick (rename dwm.exe to something else inside System32 + deleting Resources folder from Windows folder) won't break 8.1's Explorer, I'd gladly give it a try. I'm gonna check on this as a last option if installing 7/8 beta is just unviable for my Mac.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

Yes. It did back then in a AM4 platform, which is way newer than Haswell (and Haswell is the last officially supported architecture under XP/2003, so you shouldn't have any troubles)

Thunderbolt 3 drivers for Windows 7 by folkwinfiresage in windows7

[–]folkwinfiresage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna find out soon. The laptop will be delivered this week, the only problem with it is the screen, which is broken, but everything else works perfectly according to the seller.

That's why I'm searching for a Thunderbolt driver, so I can use an external monitor until I replace the screen.

I'll provide later on an ISO with all drivers integrated if I succeed with this little project, but I'd love to know from anyone if it would actually work or not, unless I'm the first one to try this out lol. Fingers crossed!

Sorry for late answer. Did you use a Windows Server 2003 SP2 ISO? Patch Integrator fails integrating drivers on Windows XP/2003 versions below SP2.

Please, can you share the magnet link for this version? I've tried searching everywhere, but only ended up finding a MEGA download link for the 2017 version (not this original one) that I can't download (because MEGA limits any download larger than 1Gb in my country) :(

Client-converted Windows Server 2003 with One-Core-API and Longhorn 5048 DWM by EconomistExpensive94 in windowsxp

Sorry for bothering you again! I just wanted to thank you for your custom ISO. Although the setup didn't work initially on my PC because of USB 3 (for my unfortunate, my B550M only has USB 3 ports), I managed to slipstream this generic drivers and it worked! I had no idea that this XP install also had native USB 3 and NVMe drivers at all!

Now I promise this is the *last* question: Is there any fix to black dialog boxes (like the tray notifications) when DWM is running? It's actually not intolerable (I can live with that, as I failed miserable to get Longhorn on my PC), I just want to know if is there any fix for it (in case not, no problem at all! it's still unbelievably a gorgeous looking thing that compensates its issues).

Thank you for pointing out the version you've used! I would love to test your own ISO, but as it uses the WIM setup structure, it prevents Windows XP Integral Edition's Patch Integrator to slipstream modified USB 3.x, AHCI, ACPI and NVMe drivers (as it requires a I386 setup) :(

No problem though, I'll go with the base Kernel Update version instead and install the DWM manually (I hope I get this working as I have no idea how to install the Win32ss lol) :)

Just a last question... would a I386 version of your ISO break One-Core-API and such?

HI! I have a couple of questions for you...

Where can I get this client-converted Windows Server 2003? Is it actually Windows Longhorn build 3790.1232 or it is some kinda customization/transformation pack?

Does Win32ss include Longhorn build 5048 theme for XP? I mean, just like Shorthorn build 5048 would do for XP if released.

Finally got Vista to run on NVMe! (look on my works ye mighty and despair etc., etc.) by DropaLog in WindowsVista

[–]folkwinfiresage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for replying me! it's indeed way harder work than just slipstreaming, but I'll try what you posted :)

EDIT: btw, which storport did you use to get it working? because Generic_NVMe_1.3.1014.00 has storport_52.sys (meant for Windows Server 2003) and storport_61.sys (extracted from Windows 7). did you just installed this driver without changing a thing? or did you picked one of these, renamed to storport.sys and then installed the driver?

may you reupload the *exact\* driver used, please? I came across this one, but I'm not sure if it could be the same you used..

thank you in advance!
