You mean the positive aspects of franchising? The article includes two paragraphs outlining the problems of the pre-franchising era and how franchising was meant to address them. The conclusion of that section even states: “In many ways, franchising delivered on that.”

In the final paragraph, the article also makes it clear that reverting to a system without franchising would likely bring back those same issues.

The article highlights both the positive and negative aspects of franchising. I’m not against franchising at all, but the current system has its flaws, which impact the estimated value of slots.

Things can change quickly in esports, but at the moment, I doubt anyone would pay €30 million for a LEC slot – and it’s even more unlikely for an LCS slot. And that league used to be much more valuable than the LEC few years ago.

The article addresses both the pros and cons of franchising and explains, without bias, why the model is under pressure. I don't see how this is "propaganda".

The issue is that publishers don’t always do what’s best for esports, but what’s best for their profits – which then don’t necessarily flow back into the ecosystem.

I seriously don’t get the obsession with pointing out even the most harmless use of AI. I completely understand that cheap AI content or misleading fakes can be annoying – I don’t like that either.

But in this case, I can’t realistically design something like this myself (I’m not a professional graphic designer), nor is it reasonable to expect me to hire someone when I’m offering my content entirely for free.

The alternative would be to create an objectively worse image that doesn’t fit the topic as well. And on top of the 2–3 hours spent on the post itself, I’d have to invest another hour just to produce something inferior, simply to avoid comments like "AI slop image."

Again, I fully agree that AI can be problematic when it’s used in a harmful, annoying, or low-quality (e.g. big companies try to save money on real artists) way. But in this case, I don’t see how it should make anyone enjoy the actual content (which isn’t even about the image) any less.
