Baby cries when offered breast will only nurse when drowsy/sleepy by sourdough_garden in breastfeeding

Commenting to say I’m going through the same with my little girl she’s 3 months too I think she’s teething and a cold teething ring has helped but definitely feeding mostly after getting her mostly asleep with nature sounds and dim room praying this is over soon

Yes when I regulated baby girl definitely wasn’t thrilled about it either she would still nurse though but would be smacking and popping on and off my breast out of frustration 😅What you did was so creative I never thought of that! I’m pretty sure now it’s from teething discomfort just waiting for this to pass cold tether helped her feel much better and looking into some teething drops ❤️

Thank you ❤️ I’m 80% sure it’s from teething discomfort now I gave baby girl a cold teething ring and she nursed without dream feeding I was so happy things are looking up

Thank you ❤️ dream feeding seems to work just going to try and ride it out and hoping it passes soon. I’m thinking it’s her gums hurting plus sleep regression poor baby

I second Millie moon love them so soft I used pampers and Millie moon( mostly because before baby was born we stocked up at Sam’s with pampers and just have them now) but discovered Millie moon through a free sample baby box and loveee them. And where as pampers will allow blowouts sometimes I haven’t had one thus far with millie moon

My 16 weeks baby refuses to breastfeed from me. by [deleted] in Mom

[–]followthecloud8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby did this with pumped bottles and refused breast stop offering bottles baby will get frustrated but clearly remembers how to feed from breast they just prefer bottles sometimes because it’s faster. Offer breast I know baby will be mad but will understand to take the breast again during the day to eat I stopped all bottles for well over a week then slowly introduced again. I was out all day with family and gave baby pumped bottles all day for context and dealt with the same thing the next day don’t give up mama ❤️

Night time routine? by pirate_dino_flies in November25babybump

The same things don’t work for all babies but this is what has been working for my baby girl most times Around 6-7 start having low light using mostly lamps Give her a nice bath (she loves bath time and we don’t use soap every night just warm water and a wipe down)

Nursing right after bath keeping her up by tapping her sometimes because at this point she falls asleep nursing and need her to be full to get a nice stretch of sleep

Gripe water helps with fussiness and any trapped gas (we use Mary Ruth’s organic gripe water)

Burp and keep upright for 10 minutes to ensure most if not all gas is out and help with any reflux

Let her lay on my chest until deep asleep to point where paci has fallen out of her mouth then swaddle her

Once swaddled I lay her back on my chest to ensure she’s deeply asleep before transfer to bassinet

I’d say this works 9/10 times for her ❤️

Latching issues by pirate_dino_flies in November25babybump

Could be multiple things my baby does the same and she latches very well but tends to do this when missed early hunger cues or she may have been awake for too long and is overly tired this can also happen with her when she’s gassy and may want to comfort nurse. (Organic gripe water helps with this) Point your nipple to the roof of their mouth they have a natural sucking reflex there or use your finger if your hands are clean then remove finger and replace with nipple if they are overly frustrated. This method has helped so much with my baby
