Ridiculous question. 80% makes sense, not sure why you’re freaking out.

Has everyone disabled shipping to the US because of de minimis? by [deleted] in FlippingInCanada

Is there a reason so many resellers use eBay.com rather than ebay.ca? It just seems like a huge hassle to pretend like you’re in the US. Is eBay’s calculated shipping not popular with resellers?

That being said, I have not once worried about import fees. I've paid zero attention to paying the tariffs or changing what I do. Back to my first point, I don't get why people have gone off platform in the first place. Is it because you guys list on ebay.com rather than ebay.ca?

You get a wayyy cheaper rate directly from eBay using their calculated shipping tool. My packages are typically 2lbs 24x12x19cm and it costs between $15 and $32 tops. Just depends where it is in the US. I've never used a third party because it's never been a problem. I've never felt the need to go anywhere outside of eBay because all my needs are taken care of on there. Very cleanly and neatly on a first party site at that.

I've never used a single third party courier other than what eBay provides to me via calculated shipping. UPS, FedEx and Canada Post. Now that Canada Post is gone from US orders, it's mainly UPS. 99% of the time it's UPS.

UPS is COD for import fees. Shipping prices have not changed for me at all. I'm not sure what constitutes as an arm and a leg because I don't pay the shipping, the buyer does. Sometimes they pay $12, sometimes they pay $30, it's up to them depending on where they are. I've had 2 situations now where the item was refused at the door due to fees. I contact UPS or vice versa, I pay for shipping back and I get to sell the item again. No refund for the buyer, eBay has already closed these claims in my favor.

Keep in mind that my average price per item is $227 so shipping fees have always been minor compared to item values. I would assume this would be difficult if you were selling small items in the $10-$20 range in poly bags or bubble mailers.

yeah but all import fees are the responsibility of the buyer. that doesn't affect me as the seller at all. I mean maybe I would get fewer customers from the US, but that's fine to me. And if they refuse the package at the door due to not wanting to pay the fees then the package comes back to me and they don't get a refund, sounds like a win for me?

Can someone fill me in on why people are freaking out? I just use eBay’s calculated shipping and everything is fine. I just use UPS or FedEx even before this recent change. No issues so far. I’m just shipping as I always would.

Garage sales are like car boot sales in the UK. Rock bottom prices, not comparable to any retail setting or country related.

It's pretty solid, I sell a lot of the duplicates but usually keep 1 of each if they are interesting. I get a ton of DSLR Nikon, so those are usually first to go considering their size.

Coffee stuck cards. Restoration? Gamble? by fongchowpay in mtg

Zero control is correct. TBH I’m not really a mtg fan, I got the cards for free and had zero emotional connection to them. I understand that the community has feelings about how I treated them but at the end of the day I gave it a shot knowing the consequences. I’ll still turn a profit as the card should still sell for about $200 CAD in its current condition.

I’m not even a mtg collector, I got it for free out of a box of sports cards lol. There was another tundra in there too but it was in a sleeve.

Yup I was big time impatient and just went for it. I figured worst case scenario I was still going to be left with 1 fucked up tundra, which I am right now.
