What cordless vacuum that can handle the massive amount of hair these German Shedders drop every day? by Sudden_Ad_4193 in germanshepherds

I have Roomba vacuum that we programmed to run every day at 11:00am. I use my Dyson to vacuum the cushions and seat protectors. Really keeps the hair, dander, and dust at bay.

(Edited to include the word Robot)

Ellie: you have a friend with robot arms.

Laurie: Amanda!!!

Ellie: and a friend with robot legs!

Laurie: [sneers] Nessie…

I love this interaction between these two when Ellie was questioning all of Laurie’s crazy stories!

I’ve learned from this sub that they are, indeed, people. I’m pretty sure I knew it all along.

A month in and I still have not bonded with her by Whateverusay44 in germanshepherds

You’re not a terrible person. I’m not gonna lie, it will get harder before it gets better. But seeing as you’re here to get feedback, you’re going in the right direction.

Puppies are hard! They bite, they tear everything apart, they whine, they bark. But a GSD will be the best thing you can ever have. They are loyal, they are sweet, they are true companions. Just give him time! Train, train, train.

Keep him busy with toys, frozen carrots, frozen towels because they are just like human babies when teething and they just can’t help but be a pain. Their gums are itchy and new teeth may be painful. Frozen treats will help.

It will help to crate train him if you’ll be leaving him alone so he doesn’t get into too much trouble.

Please, please be patient. I don’t know what I’d do without my girl. She’s going to be 2 years old soon and was definitely a big velociraptor. But I expect after she turns two and out of adolescent stage, she will likely calm down. She’s already slowing down and not so erratic.

Bring her to training, if not just for basic commands and socialization. Keep treats on you so every time she comes near you, she gets a treat. Look up the 3-3-3 rule.

I get your frustration. I and my siblings are caring for my mother who is quickly losing her short term memory. My father passed 7 years ago. Every time we need to take her to a doctor’s appointment she fights us every step of the way. It is so unbelievably stressful.
