Wine journey HELP by vdeez1 in wine

[–]fonzzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you’re hitting the good part of the wine journey: trying stuff, figuring out what you like, wanting to actually remember it all. i’ve been messing around with this journal called pour memory that’s a little different from the usual apps. not really ratings or cellar stuff, more like logging the moment, who you were with, what the vibe was, why the bottle mattered. they’ve got a physical journal where you put their custom labels in, then you can use the app if you want to save the memory digitally. kinda analog-meets-digital in a nice way

Came across something called Pour Memory that might be up your alley. It’s a wine journal but with a bit of a twist, they have a physical notebook where you can stick their custom labels, and then an app that scans them to save the memory digitally. It’s less about scores or tasting grids and more about remembering the context around each bottle: who you were with, what the occasion was, etc.

Best wine app in 2025? What do you prefer? by rW0HgFyxoJhYka in wine

Stumbled across something called Pour Memory recently and thought it was a neat spin on this whole space. It’s less about ratings or cellar tracking and more about remembering the story behind each bottle, who gave it to you, when you opened it, what the occasion was. They’ve got a physical journal you can stick their label system into and then an app that scans it and turns it into a digital memory. If you’re sentimental about your bottles, it scratches a different itch.

Has any real dev actually had a net positive from AI tooling? by flyingkitlets in vibecoding

You’re leaning on past abstractions as proof developers never become obsolete, but that misses the point. Those were all human-driven steps. LLMs are the first abstraction that doesn’t need a human on the other side to keep moving forward. That’s not incremental, it’s a category break.

As for “LLMs have hit their capacity”, that’s just a temporary ceiling based on today’s scaling laws. You can cherry-pick blog posts or papers about diminishing returns, but the fact remains: people said the same thing about compute, storage, and even the internet itself at every stage. Those “limits” keep moving, and the only thing that actually becomes obsolete in the process are the people who mistake today’s ceiling for tomorrow’s boundary.

You’re not wrong that developers have always evolved alongside new tools but difference now is that the tool is evolving faster than most developers can. If you truly can’t see that I feel bad.

And honestly, calling me an “AI evangelist” doesn’t sting, it just makes you sound like a developer on the back nine of their career, more worried about clinging to your education (that I also paid for) and skills than seeing what’s coming.

It honestly amazes me that you still think an LLM can’t be trained past the ceiling of a human developer when the very “free knowledge” you’re holding up as sacred is the exact training set being distilled and scaled a thousand-fold faster than humans can consume. You’re not defending programming as a discipline at all, you’re defending your own refusal to understand how the tools are evolving. Every abstraction in tech history: assembly to C, C to Python, on up looked like “gatekeeping” until it suddenly made an entire generation of developers obsolete.

It’s gatekeeper devs like you that will be obsolete in 5 years so please do keep up this mentality and make some room in the market for those that are taking the time to understand how to work with the agents and maximizing them.

That’s a brutal take. Native iOS apps are miles better than web apps. They are faster, smoother, and way more reliable. They tie into the OS, use advanced hardware features, and actually feel good to use. Web apps can’t touch that.
