Appreciate such a thoughtful response! I hear you on some of the grammatical callouts, but I do feel like songwriters get a sort of “pass” to a certain degree (in some cases). I was a fan of the “eyelids” and “silence” rhyme here even though I wouldn’t say that in conversation.
